Human Target: Season 2 on FOX - Discussion & Spoilers

^ Makes sense.

I was watching on Wednesday night on FOX, then suddenly, the episode got cut off and something else was showing in its place. Fortunately, 'A' channel was showing it, so I watched it there. Both episodes had some Guerrero in action, so you have that to look forward to.

Good episodes. One thing I've noticed though, they've been moving away from the "client of the week" format, and instead mostly doing stories about the main characters dealing with situations that pop up in their day to day lives. That impacts believability, slightly, and displays a disappointing lack of faith in the show's basic premise on part of the writers. Nonetheless, the fun's still there.

Just another example of a show that had it right in the first place, but the network decided it needed some "tweeks" to get it "right" or "marketable." The end result being crap and cancellation.

Anybody remember John Laroquette's sitcom where he was the night manager of a bus station? Dark, wry, ironic humor playing off society's dregs. It was hysterical. In season 2 the network made some changes - he was now the day shift manager, the resident hooker decided to reform and become an actress or something, they downplayed his alcoholism, and gave him a way-too-cheerful girlfriend. The humor dried up and the show died horribley.

I enjoyed them but yeah the show probably will be canned. I personally have enjoyed this season more than last and it has been remarkably consistent. I don't know what "tweaks" you are referring to but I like the addition of Ames and Ilsa and the writing has been better.

HT has been a highlight in a rather drab season of tv.

^^^ *snort* Nice.

I thought sure Ilsa was going to have a new Eldo for him, but I guess it wouldn't have been the same. And awww, he's got an adorable son! (Uh, I'm glad Chance specified that the snow-globe was a drug-free one. Geez.)

In the first episode I was hoping Winston would yell "Haven't you guys seen Die Hard?" to the FBI agents. Nice to see Guerrrero kick some ass too. And the Gun Fight in Gun World was hilarious. Don't rob a gun store in Alabama!

Loved when Guerrero said his name and, despite the masks, all the thugs were visibly unsettled.

And the Gun World scene kinda reminded me of that scene in Chuck Norris' only good movie, Code of Silence, when the two guys try to rob a cop bar.

Heads up. Next new episode is tonight (1/31)!

A husband hires the team to protect him from his wife, who he believes is a Russian spy. Meanwhile, Ames tries to conceal a secret from Chance.

"Kill Bob" was a pretty good episode. When I saw the wife, I felt like I should have recognized her, then I saw "Lauren German" in the credits. I also noticed the product placement for that Windows phone thing.

They're beatin' that Windows phone drum all the damn time.

Lauren German? Pretty lil' thing (he understated)!
I absolutely LOVED her character.

The show had been getting better in recent weeks but I thought yesterday's episode wasn't good. The wife is a murderer who was originally supposed to kill her husband Bob. She lied to him for three years but hey, I'm still in love with her! Add to that the inexplicable Ames gets married off-camera to a guy we never met and gets it annuled by the end of the episode. What the fuck was the purpose of this storyline? Is this the best Miller could come up with for her "strong" female characters? Even Valley looks like he's phoning it in at times due to all the crap he has to deal with.

Looks like we know where the season (series?) finale is heading up to. The re-appearance of Ilsa's husband. Of course, that's just a cover for the real storyline of this season...Chance and Ilsa getting together. What a waste of a season and a tired cliche to boot.

There's some good parts, like Winston recating to how stupid the Bob/wife storyline is.

I thought it was a fun episode, although I do agree that Ames marriage was really weird. I'm hoping that maybe it was a set up for something later in the season.

I assumed the Ames storyline was that she was on a mission that meant marrying someone. It would have been contrived but it would have made more sense than what we got.
