New trailer. At this point I could do without using "Hurt" yet again but looks decent.
In general, I mean it's a cool take on the song but it's just so overplayed these days, not necessarily on the radio but just in various media.
I like the use of "Hurt" here because it fits well with the trailer. I guess I haven't heard it too much.

I like the low budget look to the movie. You take out the X-men elements and it could be a nice character piece movie.
A far cry from the "end of the world" and dropping CGI baseball stadiums, submarines and moving the golden gate bridge.
I liked the scene of Logan and Xavier in the car running from the bad guys.

You know it just now occurs to be that each of the three solo Wolverine movies are about as drastically different from one another in tone and content as any other series of films I can think of. They're practically an anthology series at this point.
Say what you will about the other two ("pile of crap" being a fair descriptor of the first) but at least they were each their own thing. Not many other franchises are willing to wander so far.
They could go either way with it. The stinger on AoA certainly seemed like they're going the X-23 route for her, but the X-Men movies have never been entirely beholden to such things in the past. Honestly it would feel odd if they didn't at least hint at the connection.

Given that there are over 4 decades between the X-Men Apocalypse 'stinger' and the events of this movie (if it is set in 2024 as I've seen reported), it seems rather unlikely to me that the two things have much, if anything, to do with one another.
I like "The Wolverine" its a slower film in certain parts. Wolverine having dinner with Yuriko or taking a walk.
Something to break up all the CGI scenes or crazy action.
That's why I love The Wolverine so much, too. It's a strong character piece first, superhero movie second.

That's a really great point and that's certainly a major highlight for the whole series. I suppose I should give the first film another try (I do remember some good things about it) and I love The Wolverine, probably more than most people.
Well, if they're cloning him as in the comics, that sample or even the embryo could have been in cold storage for the majority of that time. IIRC she's called "X-23" precisely because she's the 23rd (and only successful) attempt at creating a clone from Logan's DNA.
I'll have to give 'The Wolverine' another go but from my recollections I found it sadly forgettable for the most part. Some stand out action scenes and Jackman was on form as always, but it lacked a little certain something.
Origins had some *glimmers* of quality but they were buried under so many layers of poor creative decisions, lacklustre filmmaking, and a very haphazard & unoriginal script that it's very difficult to credit. If nothing else though, at least it brought Ryan Reynolds and Wade Wilson together as the universe intended...well almost as intended. Best two out of three.

I'm afraid I have to be the odd man out here. I was never a fan of the Old Man Logan storyline in general, so this trailer really didn't excite me much.
I've never read "Old Man Logan" so I have no preconceptions based on it. Besides, from what I've heard from others who have read it, this film looks to be only picking pieces of the storyline and it's not really even an adaption of the story.
It reminds me a lot of Skyfall, with Bond and M on the run together.
And if Xavier dies (which looks likely), that'll be like Skyfall too.
Not saying it's a copy or anything like that, but the themes there are similar and equally resonant.
I thought the trailer looked great and has me very excited and interested in it. I've read OML and, yeah, only see the faintest of similarities here.
