Are we sure they aren't just using "Captain Janeway" for promotion/announcements like that because that's how she's known as to the majority of people?
She could be retired from Starfleet, but is the captain of this new ship perhaps. When does this series taken place? Isn't Janeway an admiral now?
Funny. That's how I'll react if Tuvix is in the show.If Tuvix isn’t in the show, I will boycott and throw diseased meat at CBS headquarters.

Shit just got real.
As did I, but I was just hopping over from the Hugh thread in the Picard forum.I misread that as '*Hugh legacy character...'
Well on the positive side we'll probably get a lot more consistently good characterization for Janeway on a modern children show than it was the case with Voyager.
Sidenote, it seems Mulgrew agrees on this:
Though what I really question is why on earth they are hiring hiring Mulgrew to do voice work of all things...
But that means we get her voice!
Kate Mulgrew used to be a heavy smoker.Unique voice? Drinking to much Coffee?![]()
A new series set on DS9 will cause massive nerdgasms! What is Ira Behr doing these days?
Hopefully he does. He needs a break from the prophetsGreat news!
Kurtzman has brought back Picard and Janeway. Now do something with the Sisko!
She has done a fair amount of voice acting:

She has a unique voice.
Are Trek fans on a constant quest for validation? Like, I read comments like this (and another DS9 one in another thread) as well as people wanting "nods to fans" in shows. And, I'm sitting there going, "Is there something I'm missing? Do fans need these constant nods to themselves for reasons I don't get?"I will say that I'm a little disheartened that DS9 seems to once again get the shaft even in modern Trek. Fellow longtime fans can recall times over the years when DS9 seemed to be forgotten or never mentioned in the same breath as the other shows.
BUT - it was so nice when Lower Decks went there, albeit briefly.

DS9 may have been the outsider but it's become the favorite show and considered top tier Trek in most fan circles I'm apart of. Perhaps its time to let go of the angst and let Trek go where it will?![]()
