Re: http://www.ncc-1701.com/

Abrams and his minions are probably on computers during their shooting breaks just watching all the little Trekkies go berserk over every little thing that's come out.

Director's Assistant: "JJ, come over here and check this one out! Now they're trying to line up the frequency bars to see if there's a hidden picture!"

;) :p

:guffaw:

I just know there is someone out there thinking "Hey we made people feel guilty about sex. We created Sexalcoholics Anonymous. Let's make people feel guilty feel guilty about Star Trek. Trekalcoholics"

You read it here first.

Re: http://www.ncc-1701.com/

Hey everyone! I've just been looking for forums where this is being discussed, and it seems you guys are one of the most active, so I thought I'd join up. I'm a frequenter from Unfiction.com and a writer for ARGN.com, and all this Star Trek viral news has got me pretty excited :)

Anyhow, just offering up my greetings. ;)

Not much I can add about what you've found, as that seems to be about it so far (pretty much everywhere seems to have caught up to that point). I do think the best lead right now (if it is one) is the set of 4 numbers for the sliders. They may be random, but they may mean something. OTOH, this may have just been the first step as a way to get the first internal shot of the Enterprise out to the public as PR.
Either way, with 11 months to go, more is certain to happen.

Could the corridor perhaps be inside a Romulan ship?
I don't think so. Since the URL is ncc-1701.com and the page is labeled "Shipyard NCC-1701," it is almost certainly an interior corridor of the Enterprise herself.

"Almost certainly" remains unequivocally uncertain.

This is a viral marketing site for Star Trek. There's absolutely no basis in logic to maintain that simply because the site is named after the Enterprise, any photos appearing there must be by extension of the Enterprise.

I maintain that it's not a corridor on the Enterprise, until evidence to the contrary surfaces.

Considering the context of looking in on a shipyard constructing a vessel as that site is setup to do, various welding shots on the other screens, its more then likely part of the Enterprise...

I'm with you!

I think they significantly changed the exterior of the Enterprise just to throw us off guard. I bet all the interior sets will look just like they did in The Cage, and they're using all this other stuff as a smokescreen.

Re: http://www.ncc-1701.com/

it may very well be that this is the construction of (or at least the corridor of) an antagonist's ship... as this is a viral site, hopefully adding some backstory to the plot of the movie, this is also a strong possibility. I'm willing to go either way (though I think latter is more indicative on the surface of a potential ARGish experience, thus I'm more hopeful for it)

Re: http://www.ncc-1701.com/

Coooooool, a corridor.

Been away for a week, need to catch up on news big time.

I'm actually excited... about an angled corridor.

Besides, it could be anywhere, could even be the dry dock interior, the engineering corridor network (as it looks kind of industrial), could be cargo storage area aswel.

In other words, just because the site is named after the 1701, doesnt mean its a shot inside the ship.

Could even be a decoy image and not actually be part of the film, a deliberate talking point on behalf of the site creators. Hell, it could even be an interior from future Spocks time...

Just have to wait and see.

BUT I CANT WAIT!!! GORRAM INTERNET, FUELING OUR DESIRES!!!

I found myself irritatingly unable to put the third camera to 100% (it keeps sitting at 99.1%), but the hazy camera turns to the corridor anyway. Just incase anyone else is ending up doing the same as me.

To anyone having problems tuning the cameras exactly...
The arrows go in steps of ten.
Get it one step under where you want it, and then click on the last digit of the number. Every click will up the number by one, so you can get it to exactly 100%.

Re: http://www.ncc-1701.com/

So, has anyone photomanipulated the corridor picture to be much brighter, take on a gray paint (a la TOS/Cage), and adjust the lighting to "ceiling fluorescent-like lighting" as opposed to spotlights? That would look very interesting.

Nope. They won't be. Welcome to the year 2008.
