How will we abbreviate the title of Trek XI?

I am not Spock

Commodore
Commodore
We have:
TOS
TAS
TNG
DS9
VOY
ENT
TMP
TWOK
TSFS
TVH
TFF
TUC
GEN
FC
INS
NEM

to seperate the other Trek series and movies from each other. So when the new film hits next year, how shall we officially dub it? ST? ST XI? ST0?

So we're doing this one again? Sure, why not?

Orci, et al said it was Star Trek Zero... so once again I'm going with that...
ST0
STZ
STZero

I'll probably go with that answer each time the same topic comes up... maybe I'll just copy & paste each time... :vulcan:

I'm tempted to say ST:XI.

Likely the next one will have a title we can do something with.

STM (for Star Trek Movie, not Scanning Tunneling Microscope). ST11 is easier to understand, though. I like nuTrek, though.

STR - Star Trek Reboot?

Personally, STXI works well, IMHO. We're lacking anything else to differentiate it from the franchise of Star Trek.

AST - Abrams Star Trek?

We really should have a vote on this one, at some point. Nominations and then voting.

Either ST0, nuTrek, or STSS (stands for Star Trek: Shouting Spock :D)

STR.

The R stands for reborn, redesigned, reframed, re-whatever. Long list. Take your pick, hopefully not rebooted.

STXI sounds good enough.

ST, by itself, usually refers to *all* of Star Trek. At least that's how I perceive it.

If there are any sequels, they can be dealt with, just like the last ones. For example: ST:ERW. ;)

I don't think I've ever seen it used that way, at least not in a Star Trek discussion.

I could see someone jumping back and forth between, say, ST and SW if they are referring to specific franchises, but if you are just talking Trek, ST would work.

And it would usually be obvious from the context of the discussion if you were refering to the entire franchise or just the latest movie.
