It'll be a tight fit, but they can probably squeeze it in there if they spin it around twice and drop it in vertically. How do you think the spore drive will fit in the larger Trek universe?

It's like how The Search For Spock doesn't fit into canon because no one uses (or mentions) transwarp drive after this point in the timeline...
I think they should just leave it intact and explain how it's unusable in later Treks in a series of tweets from the producers.
I agree that network must go or be permanently inaccessible.
This is followed by a scene at Star Fleet....147 posts in and this joke just now just occurred to me.
The Spore Drive will fit right in the stack next to the Genesis Device and Phasing Cloaks:

Do not think so. If it still worked, the Equinox would have tried it. Voyager would have some of the crew working to make it safe to use.I think spore drive will have to be revealed to have an absolutely nasty side effect that precludes it ever being used again. Otherwise, Voyager would have risked using it *just once* to get home. Maybe each jump pushes you into a parallel universe.
we talking the guy who put toy joysticks in his cockpit or the hedgehog-looking fucker?Voyager's full of enough geniuses to rediscover and reinvent the damn thing if it were buried knowledge.
I almost think the infinity warp basically WAS the spore drive with a different activation mechanism. It would certain explain the salamandar mutation (space mushrooms triggering horizontal DNA transfer with Data's cat, which for some reason is descended from an iguana).Voyager's full of enough geniuses to rediscover and reinvent the damn thing if it were buried knowledge.
IIRC before the Transwarp Salamander transformation began, their biggest problem was controlling where to drop out of infinity-everywhere-speed. They'd basically come to almost the same result in a different way.
As much as this makes sense, trying to make sense of "Threshold" scares me O_oI almost think the infinity warp basically WAS the spore drive with a different activation mechanism. JANEWAY: I'll break each and every rule up to and including the Temporal Prime Directive to get my people home a little faster, but I won't break this one!In your absence, The Spore Drive has become a galactic controversy. Until the Federation Council makes policy, you are all under orders not to discuss with anyone your knowledge of the Spore Drive. Consider it obsolete technology...and a forbidden subject.
