How to fix the holographic displays in Picard

While I wasn't specifically calling out all of your posts, I also note that you didn't want to discuss improving the depiction - merely to try to justify it (as I already pointed out). And then when that failed, you turned to petty hyperbole and insinuated a lack of tolerance on the part of others.
Since I wasn't replying to you I see no reason for you to assume the hyperbole was directed at you.

If you want to discuss improvements thats fine. I had missed your last post and hadn't replied to it.

Now, if we are done with making it personal then we can discuss. Otherwise, I see no reason to stand here and be insulted.

My my, someone clearly places a high value on their own opinion...

I'm sorry if your standards are so low that you consider a desire for quality to be "nitpicky." Luckily, you're not the arbiter of what gets to be debated - despite your apparent delusions to the contrary.
The post, not the poster.

The thing is that even on a civilian ship you'll want a analog-physical backup that's directly wired to whatever you want to control.

I personally expected consoles to get smaller; eg, phone-sized or phablets than the huge consoles we saw in TNG and TOS; you can type on it, open other routines on it, etc.

As EC Henry says it's just a cheap sciftrope to have eye-straining, non responsive Holographic stuff inserted into a scene post-shooting because computers can churn it out randomly now and the masses think it's futuristic.

I didn't like it in ME, or the Marvel Films, ("THAT MAN IS PLAYING GATACCA"), the Expanse (though I think it was just a see through phone?) and def not Star Trek. It just makes La Sirena feel even MORE empty, too.

right. It’s cheap and easy to do. I mean we are talking about the special effects team that rendered one ship and copy and pasted the rest. Lol

For the record: I agree with every single critique made against holographic controls, but I find that giving a lot of weight to that single element to be nitpicky. It is a very minor flaw, and spending a lot of mental energy on it is not a desire for quality.

While I don't mind the holographic controls if it can be improved upon then so be it.

But, the amount of angst generated is focusing energy in the wrong place.

Fans are allowed to like and focus on aspects of a television series that you don't focus on. You're happy to excuse poor execution constantly because you don't care about those aspects of the show. Others do.

I'm big into characters, UI design, space shots and Starfleet ship design, for me Picard has failed the latter two and a half. There's a lot that can be improved, it shouldn't be a last resort as you're suggesting. But hey, 1 season in, hopefully 2 will be better.

I do hope Season 2 is better. No Borg would be preferred. I have what the "last resort" you're referring to. Of course I want it to improve. I can both accept that I enjoyed the show as is and want it to improve.

Nope, not happy about excusing it. Willing to accept it as part of the production. There's a difference.

Please tell us how you would make them better.
You know the interface I've seen that looked honestly realistic yet futuristic at the same time (not that I have any problem with Holo displays)? Firefly's paper screens. Those things blew my mind when they would toss around a piece of paper that had a moving video on it.

I’ve never seen Firefly :(
