How tall are you?

I'm waiting for a national chain of Women's Big & Tall stores. I find it funny there's one for men and not for women, esp. since on average the population is 2 inches taller and 15 lbs heavier than it was 30 years ago. Increased demand, you know. ;)

They're already starting to appear online, so relief may be in sight.

But I can assure you, speaking from experience: the grass isn't all that much greener on this side of the fence. :(

Somewhere around 5'1" or 5'2". I took a picture next to my husband's younger cousin this weekend--I've got to be at least a foot shorter than his shoulders, even!

Crazy tall people.

My youngest sister is very tall, and she often orders from Lane Bryant.

Yeah...I mean, they've got a few options for pants, but other than that it's abysmal. I have just as hard a time finding tops that are tailored to a taller body, for instance. And skirts are always too short. And boots don't come up to the right height. That sort of thing ;)

But I shop there more than anywhere else, to be sure. It would just be nice to have a shop that caters to just big and tall people, like they have for men. Online stores unfortunately don't really count, because it's not possible to try anything on (and big and tall women know that our body sizes are all very individual, and some things that wouldn't fit me would fit another women of the same height and weight as I am, but different weight distribution and frame, etc).

Big and Tall shops for guys aren't that much better. You get to choose between t-shirts that fit like a tent, Flannel shirts that fit like a tent, or Hawaiian shirts that fit like a tent.

You found a big and tall shop that stocks casual shirts?!?

I am so jealous.

Actually, from what I hear from my brother (6' 9", 300+ lbs), you're absolutely correct. He's DYING for cool clothes. Poor guy. Our whole family is big and tall, and we're like our own mini market for this stuff. If a decent both-gendered big and tall store every opened, we'd probably ourselves be a decent percentage of their total business

I'm 4'9", which is really quite tall for a faerie. I'm pretty sure my Grandmother's family had fae blood, so being petite isn't a problem. Except the supermarket keep sticking the beer on high shelves.

I'm 5'3", and so is my sister. All the other women in our family are a few inches shorter.

I concur wholeheartedly. The beer belongs to the low shelves. We must form an union or something, like "Fairies Against Getting On The Shelves". Mh, maybe not.

That explains everything! When you posted your picture from your dance class, I thought you looked tiny, but figured it was just very big wings!

If any of you tall ladies are ever in the UK - go to Long Tall Sally, because it is indeed a shop for tall women (they understand that tall women are also often larger than average so they do big sizes too). I love it - a shop I'm too short for!

6'1'' and change. You might not be able to tell I made it past six feet by the way I slouch, though.
