How tall are you?

5'10"... sometimes I'd like to be taller, others a little shorter... but generally I think I'm ok with what I've got! ;)

5'11''

From reading this thread, everyone is getting big.

My oldest son is in the 95 percentile for height, and he isn't even close to the tallest in his class. I can't wait to see the basketball team when he's in high school.

I think the stat is that people in the US have gotten two inches taller, on average, in the last 30 years. Europe is right now going through a growth spurt, as well.

I'm 4'9", which is really quite tall for a faerie. I'm pretty sure my Grandmother's family had fae blood, so being petite isn't a problem. Except the supermarket keep sticking the beer on high shelves.

I remember when I saw you for the first time on Newquay airport, you called and I looked to the right, then to the left and finally down a bit. ;)
As for being a faerie, yep, you must be one indeed. :D *hugs* :)

I've got no problem proclaiming myself short.

I'm 5'4".
5'4" used to be the average female height. Now I think 5'6" is. If I live long enough, I'll have gone from being on the tall side to short. Damn it.

I don't mind my height...5'4" also...unless I sit behind someone taller when the floor is level and I get a crick in the neck leeeaaaning to one side to see the front of the room.

6' tall. I was 5'11" when I was 15 yrs old, so I didn't grow much after.

I'm currently around 270 lbs or so.

^I think over 5' 10" starts becoming a real bother, but 5' 10" and under is still all right. I can't tell you the extra money I've spent on tall pants, and shirts, coats, etc with sleeves that don't ride up to my elbows when I move...and for that matter, nothing seems to fit quite right. The bust isn't at the right point on my chest, the shoulders aren't cut correctly, etc.

I'm waiting for a national chain of Women's Big & Tall stores. I find it funny there's one for men and not for women, esp. since on average the population is 2 inches taller and 15 lbs heavier than it was 30 years ago. Increased demand, you know. ;)

I know what you mean...I'm 6' and it's so hard to find anything that fits me that isn't a t shirt. And yeah, Lane Bryant works for some stuff (mostly skirts, assuming I don't actually want them ankle length) but I don't have gigantic boobs like apparently most women who are bigger (which is okay with me, I have to lean down enough at work since the tables are so low, I don't need any more back strain), so when I can actually find a shirt that fits me across the shoulders, I can't fill out the bust. I've pretty much just resigned myself to wearing men's pants, cause it's easier to find them long enough. And don't even get me started on women's coats. :scream: I've also resigned myself to cold wrists.

I think that's right. I have some old almanacs that say its 5'9" for males in the US and the newer ones are 5'11".
