I don't doubt it. When I was young, I was considered tall; now the youngsters tower over me....I think the stat is that people in the US have gotten two inches taller, on average, in the last 30 years. Europe is right now going through a growth spurt, as well.
I think that's right. I have some old almanacs that say its 5'9" for males in the US and the newer ones are 5'11".
I too think it's probably a largely environmental factor. It has affected the average extremely fast to be genetically selected.

Me too! But I like to say I'm 5'3".160cms - which is about 5ft 2 1/2 in.

Yeah, that's exactly it.I agree, actually I think it's not so much that we are getting taller just that people in the past had their growth stunted due to ill-health and poor diet.
