How spolied do you want to be?

These days, its pretty damn hard to stay completely spoiler free, unless you pull the plug out of the wall and throw the computer out the window (or just turn the PC off, that might be easier).

But just how spoiled do you want to be?

I for one, will never read the script (should it appear online), nor do I want to know the ending, but I dont mind know who's in the movie, what's happening and so forth.

Eventually, possibly a couple of months before, I may bow out of this forum for a while to avoid spoilers, but will we be able to do that? Can anyone avoid spoilers?

Is J.J. doing a good job so far? He seems to be going to great lengths to throw us some curveballs. When the Quinto :vulcan: pics came out I started to worry that the picture was leaking like a sieve, but it seems to have stopped now.

Did anyone, like me, think that those photo's were allowed to get out? Generate a bit of buzz and all that?

Thoughts?

I'm willing to know whatever there is to know about the movie, whenever it's available. I'd read the script tomorrow if it showed up online.

ditto, don't care much about spoilage, in many ways ill enjoy this movie more if i go in anticipating the best bits. I know some people love the suspense/surprise, but that's only applied to me in shows where the premise is solely that - like 24.

I'm doing my best to stay unspoiled. I guess now that the casting has been announced, I shouldn't even be in this forum!

Sometimes it's fun to go into a movie completely cold, but I also like being informed about films before I actually lay down any money for them.

Of course, I also have the standard Internet fan zeal for having the "inside track", that all may bow and tremble before my superior grasp of useless facts. So, yeah, I'll take all the spoilers I can get.

Times have changed. Spoilers are an almost unavoidable fact of life. I'm very curious about this movie and will get my information from anywhere I can. I'm sure there will still be some surprises for me when I finally reach the theater.

Generally, I avoid spoilers like the plague, for anything I plan to see.

However, for obvious reasons, I won't be able to do that with this movie.

That's okay though...

In the past, I've found I enjoyed more the Trek movies that I didn't know much about before seeing them. I therefore intend to try to avoid spoilers as much as possible. This will be very hard, and require immense willpower.

First, I want to see the exterior of the Enterprise.

Second, I want to scream if it looks in any real way different from the TOS TV version.

Third, I want to see the corridors and the bridge.

Fourth, I want to scream if they look in any real way different from the TOS TV versions.

Fifth, I want to see the uniforms and handheld tech.

Sixth, I want to scream and break things if they...

You get the idea.

I want to see a picture of the ship, the cast in uniform, a picture of the bridge, and the official trailers. after that I'm staying out of this forum.

I am addicted to this forum, so I'm going to have a hard time not being too spoiled, but I'll do my best to avoid the more spoilerish looking threads. I don't mind knowing some details, but I don't want to go in knowing absolutely everything that is going to happen.

I totally agree!

I want to see the ship, the bridge, the handheld tech, and maybe some teaser details about the plot. But that's it. And I, too, will scream if the stuff is totally different from TOS.

Of course I'm going to watch all the trailers and check out all the promotional photos. I'll probably read teaser interviews from Abrams and the others because I seriously doubt they would give too much away. Anything other than that I won't even touch. Unfortunately, I might have to stay away from this part of the board for a while. :(

The last TREK movie I knew nothing about was TWOK. I actually remember walking into the theater where they had a picture of the Reliant and thinking "cool, new ships".

I really want to know everything about this movie, don;t know why, just do. Maybe it is this deep seeded sub-concious need not to be disappointed. This way if I know everything up front, I won't weep in the theater.

I usually like to stay unspoiled for things like this, but after Nemesis I have to know every spoiler out there. That way if it's bad I can prepare myself early for it. If it's good, then that just means I was prepared for the awesomeness.

On the other hand, I'm staying completely spoiler free for the only other movie I care about next year, the X-Files sequel (which is odd considering I hated the last two seasons of that show, but that's neither here nor there). So I guess I'll find out which was the better course...do spoil of not to spoil. (That is the question!)

That's cool, but then again, you could just go see it unspoiled, and if it sucks, say "oh well" and move on with life... :vulcan:

True, but for reasons I can't comprehend myself, it would just be more comforting if I knew ahead of time.

Plus I'd rather have any potential sad/angry breakdowns in the comfort of my own home than a public theater.
