How redesigned will the movie be?

Will the Enterprise look the same basically? Are they going old school? Do they want it to be cool? Are they trying to go on the cheap like usual? Will it be epic(watch the amazing battle in Revenge of the Sith with the sky filled with ships compared to a Trek movie)? Who is the Kirk? Will B&B be involved?

I've never had herpes and have limited experience with hemmoroids - the toothaches I've had, however, have caused me far more personal discomfort than anything Berman or Braga have ever done. So based on my experience, I'd have to call that hyperbole. :)

Well, that's the problem. The miniskirts-and-beehive-hairdo routine is going to look comical unless they modify it.

Hey, with the way fashion styles change, by the time this movie comes out, beehives and miniskirts may be en vogue...

One never knows...

If the women are hot enough, the beehives shouldn't be a problem. Big boobs to level out the big hair. Besides, not all of the women had beehives. In fact the only one I can remember is Rand. And miniskirts are always in fashion.

Temis the Vorta said:The main issue is how much it's going to look like the 1960s.
It won't look like the 1960s, but it won't look like 2007, either.

Chairs will resemble the original but won't be made from plastic buckets, they'll be more complex. Screens won't be static. But the construction... I have good reason to say that I'll be shocked beyond belief if what I see on the screen next year somehow looks different from what I'm expecting.

It won't be the exact same sets as we know, or the exact same models we know. It'll be the exact same DESIGNS, though. Just implemented in a slightly more advanced (and perhaps a bit more extravagant?) manner.

But for those who are worried, I think you can rest assured that there will be other stuff to look at. Sets, ships, props, etc... which are totally and completely new... and yet still very much "feeling" like classic Star Trek.

I can't explain WHY I feel this way... but I'm very confident about it. Your mileage may vary... 'til next year, anyway.

On the unrated extended DVD version, the miniskirt outfits will be crotchless.

Just please tell me that the men won't be wearing mini-skirts like that guy on TNG.

"Plastic Buckets"? Dude, don't be diss'n the Burke chairs! The Burke "tulip chair" was considered a classic design long before Trek used 'em.

I think they should get rid of the beehives, except maybe one chick wearing it for nostalgia's sake.
Miniskirts shouldn't be in it, because I still think they should use the original uniforms shown in WNMHGB/The Cage.

It was also good enough for Carol Brady's kitchenette set.

I think that if you compare the movie version of "Lost In Space" with the TV series you'll get a sense of the likely similarities and differences between old Trek and nuTrek.
