How many times did you see each film in the theater?

From TSFS onwards, 1 time each.

For TMP and TWOK, probably TV or video first. I'd seen the show and enjoyed it, but didn't really go to the cinema much at the time.

TMP = 0 (and STILL regret not going down to the Uptown in DC to see it)
II = 1
III = 1*
IV = 2*
V = 1*
VI = 2*
Gen = 1*
FC = 0
Ins = 0
Nem = 1*
ST = 1

* including opening night.

Off topic, I realize, but the Uptown (one of the great old single-screen theaters remaining on the east coast) is indeed a great place for SF-type movies; since arriving in the DC area, I've seen there (in order) Jurassic Park, 12 Monkeys, 2001 (during the fall of 2001 when a very nice print was on a national tour), and Fellowship of the Ring.

I did see TMP in December '79 at the late lamented Fox theater in center-city Philadelphia just west of City Hall - the same place where I'd seen 2001 (in Cinerama!) in spring '68 when I was exactly the right age for it (11 1/2). TMP was the second-last picture ever to play there; the last was In Search of Historic Jesus.

I spent a semester in DC during the fall of 2007. IIRC, the Uptown is the theatre where I saw Blade Runner: The Final Cut (not once, not twice, but three times). If it's the place I'm thinking of, it's truly terrific.

Although I must say, having been to the Aero and the Egyptian theatres in Los Angeles during the past eight months, they're quite nice, too. I really enjoy being in a place where I can see movies the way they were meant to be seen -- on the big screen -- for both old and new releases.

I saw TWOK five times at the theater and TSFS once and that was enough. The other movies didn't sound that interesting. The others I saw on VHS. I don't plan on watching the new Star Trek movie. There's only one Kirk and one Spock and they are played by Shatner and Nimoy respectively.

^ Nimoy's Spock is in the new film, so now you can watch it. Hooray.

Star Trek Generations to Nemesis: Once
Star Trek 11: Three times

Missed out on the chance on seeing TOS movies in the cinemas, as that time I wasn't a Star Trek fan.

But with other films:-
Generations - 1
First Contact - 2
Insurrection - 1
Nemesis - 0
Star Trek (2009) - 3 times (including once at imax in Melbourne)

TMP- once (being 12 at the time, and watching TOS since the mid 70's I was STOKED! But nobody else would take me to see it more)
TWOK- twice ( the first time I was "grounded" by my parents but went anyway...;) )
TSFS- 2
TVH- 2
TFF- 3 (had worked 3rd shift at the time and there was a cinema right next door to the store and due to traveling difficulties would arrive 3 hours before I had to start most times)
TUC-5 to 6 (same reason)
GEN- once
FC- 2
INS- 2
NEM- 0 (no job or I would have gone at least once or twice)
ST09- 0

I'm not old enough to have seen Star Trek's 1 - 5 in Theatres

But I saw Star Trek VI once in theatre
Generations once in theatre
First Contact Once in theatre
Insurrection Once in theatre
Nemesis Once in theatre

2009 Trek Once in Theatre.

In contrast...I saw the first Matrix 16 times in Theatres (because I worked for Cinemark at the time)

I saw Dark Knight 5 times in Theatre
I saw Avatar 4 Times (In 3D) in Theatre

Trek has never been good enough for me to assualted with the usual bad or mediocre writing...that would be like going to see the Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones more than Once....Why would I put myself through that?

TMP 2 times - my parents took me as a kid, then again at the Sit Long And Prosper (SLAP) festival of I-V shortly before TUC debuted
TWOK 3 times - second run theater with my parents, then SLAP, then last year at a local cinema's midnight show :techman:
TSFS 2 times - release and SLAP
TVH 2 times - release (on a date) and SLAP
TFF 1 time - opening day
TUC 1 time - opening day
GEN 3 times - opening day, then with different friends
FC 2 times - I think
INS 1 time
NEM 1 time
ST 5 times - great to have a FUN ST movie back in the theaters, despite it's flaws, and had a partner who was just as into it at the time. Also looked great in IMAX :techman:

Also had the pleasure of seeing The Menagerie (remastered version) projected with an enthusiastic audience. Worked great as a ST film

TMP: I was born on December 3, 1979, so I was a little young to see that one in theatres.
TWOK: Still a little young for that one.
TSFS: 1 time with my dad.
TVH: 1 time with my dad.
TFF: 1 time with my dad.
TUC: I think I saw this one twice, for my birthday with friends and my dad and then again with my dad
GEN: 3 times - once with a friend on opening night, a second time with another group of friends and once again with my dad
FC: 2 times - once with a friend on opening night and then again with my dad
INS: 2 times - once with friends and then again with my dad
NEM: I think I just saw this once with my dad
ST: 4 times - 1 midnight show, 1 opening day, with my dad and then with another friend

Obviously my dad and I share this thing called Star Trek. And even though he's moved 7 hours away, we will continue our tradition seeing these movies as long as we can.
