How many times did you see each film in the theater?

Simple question...but can you remember how many actual times you saw each film? I certainly can:

STTMP: Never...wanted to but I was young and no one took me.
TWOK: 4
TSFS: 1
TVH: 2
TFF: 2
TUC: 2
Gen: 1
FC: 1
Insur: 1
Nem: 1

I didn't become a Trek fan until after the TOS was done with their movies. But I did see both Generations and First Contact twice in theaters. I was never that big on Insurrection initially, so I didn't bother seeing it again. Same for Nemesis, I saw it once and that was enough for me.

I'm not going to edit what I originally said above, however to be honest I can't recall if I saw Generations more than once in theaters. I know for a fact I saw First Contact twice though.

A simple answer to a simple question: never!:alienblush: I really wish now that I could have seen at least First Contact and some of the TOS movies in a theater, I'm sure it would have been a grander experience than just watching them on DVD at home, but I never got the chance to. The only Trek movie I did see in a theater was the latest.

The only ones I saw at the movies were the last three TNG films.

I think TWOK and TUC would've been cool to see.

TMP: 0. Wasn't alive.
TWOK: 0. 2 years old.
TSFS: 0. 4 years old.
TVH: 0. 5 years old.
TFF: 0. 7 years old.
TUC: 0. Too young to see it myself.
GEN: 0. Too poor to go see it.
FC: 0. Couldn't travel to the theater out of town.
INS: 0. Unable to find time to go see it.
NEM: 2. Both times with friends who were not Trek fans. That status continued.

I saw TMP in a theater once a couple of years ago, First Contact I saw four times, Insurrection and Nemesis twice each,
ST Eleven just once, all the other only on DVD's

I did kind of go to The Final Frontier in the theater, but it was when my mother was seven months pregnant with me,
and I couldn't see very well.

:)

TMP = 3 (1 in December '79 when it was released, 1 a couple of months later and 1 sometime later on IMAX screen at Ontario Place)
TWOK = 1 (when released)
TSFS = 1 (when released)
TVH = 1 (when released)
TFF = 1 (when released)
TUC =1 (when released)
GEN = 1 (when released)

After that I didn't both going anymore.

An old blog post where I discuss the sneak previews and gala premieres of the first ten movies.
http://therinofandor.blogspot.com/2006/12/star-trek-movies-then-and-now-over-on_09.html

I've seen TMP in the cinema about 15 times (quite often by myself), ST II and IV about ten times, the rest about four or five times each, but TNG films only twice or three times each. When ST V was on its way, one cinema played TMP, II, III, IV and the trailer of V all in one day. We went with a large group of friends.

The JJ Abrams film about six.

TUC = 2 (once when released, and once last week in 70mm)
GEN = 2 (when released)
FC = 2 (when released)
INS = 2 (when released)
NEM = 1 (when released)
ST09 = 2 (when released)

I'm the only Trek fan in my house, so my parents didn't take me to none of the movies as a kid. Had to wait until they showed on HBO :|

I never saw any of the TOS movies at the theatre. I saw Generations, First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis one time. I saw ST09 three times (one free and one without dubbing).

I think the only films I saw in the theater more than once were TWOK and ST'09 -- twice each.

However, I am proud to say that I've seen almost all of the films on the days they were released. It started with deciding at the last minute to drive an hour to a larger city to see the last screening of the day of The Motion Picture on Dec 7, 1979.

The only exception was TWOK. A group of friends and I were getting ready to leave for the theater when we got a call that a friend's dad was being rushed to the hospital with a heart attack. It didn't seem right to leave him worrying about his dad alone, so we stayed with him. (Fortunately, his dad recovered nicely.) I saw the film later that summer.

But ever since, it's been a fun tradition I've gladly kept. Even when I was one of the few people in the theater, like for Nemesis.

TMP: 10 or more. The other TOS films: twice. (Even FF!!!) The TNG films: once. ST09: once.

Ditto. I missed the Sydney gala premiere of TMP -and "Nemesis" didn't have one, but I was at all the others. Couldn't get a ticket to the Opera House advanced premiere of JJ's film (only 200 tickets sold to fans) but I did get to a big gala freebie preview before it opened to the public.

20 times for TMP (probably more, but I didn't pay for all of them)
20 times for TWOK (probably more, but I didn't pay for all of them)
3 times for TSFS
4 times for TVH
5 times for TFF
3 times for TUC
1 time for GEN
2 times for FC
1 time for INS
1 time for NEM (barely sat thru it)
4 times for ST09 (it felt more like Star Trek than any of the TNG films)

I saw First Contact, Insurrection, Nemesis and Star Trek ('09) in the cinema once each. I can't remember if I saw Generations in the cinema as well, but if I did it would've been just once. The earlier films were before my time.

Bless you for supporting the franchise but 20 times! :eek:

Wasn't much else to watch back in 1979, and the Hilltop Cinema in Mableton had this $1 matinee. Later on, the Cinema and Drafthouse had the $2 movies (plus you could get nachos and beer for a couple of bucks).

TMP: 2 (including first week of run)
TWOK: 2 (including first day of run)
TSFS: 2 (including first day of run)
TVH: 1
TFF: 1
TUC: 2
GEN: 1
FC: 1
INS: 0
NEM: 0

Of all of these, the most memorable single moment was the fanfare at the beginning of TWOK - the entire audience simultaneously realized that this time they were gonna do it right.

I would have seen TVH again in the theater but couldn't abide the music, and still can't. For that matter, the musical score was a big part of why I saw TUC twice in the theater. (The ones I own are TMP-dc, TWOK, and TUC.)

The only movie I saw more than twice in the theater during this entire 23-year period was Back to the Future, which I kept bringing friends and relations to see.
