How many people have viewed your profile?

3,263, for me

Wow. Maybe this is a message that I have to post more, or make some scandalous statements, or something :D

I tend to mostly visit the profile pages for people who make scandalous, stupid, or posts that make me upset, because I'm a masochist and want to see what else they've posted. I guess I want to see if they are like that all the time, in which case, I'm vindicated in disliking them, or if it was an aberrant post, in which case I misjudged them.

I'm less concerned with how many have visited than why they visit. Some are people I've interacted with for years here, and others are complete strangers.

Honestly, folks - if there's ever anything you're curious about, I don't mind answering PMs.

...people have viewed my profile?!!? They know too much. They shall be hunted and destroyed.

I've had almost 1600 more people visit my profile than posts I've made.

3276. Which is funny, because in all honesty, I've barely got anything in it.

If end up in someone's profile, it's usually because my laptop is acting up, and instead of scrolling on the touchpad, I end up somehow clicking a username. Then I always wonder, if the person happens to see me on that list of last ten visitors, if they'll wonder why I was there, and then I worry that maybe I should send them a PM to apologize!

There are times when I am really curious to know why someone visited my page, so I've just sent a PM to ask. I'm not angry when people visit, I just like to know why. If there's a problem, let's try to iron it out. If they're interested in checking out my posting history for some reason, I'm curious if it's because they're interested or because they're upset with me.

Some people have usernames that indicate a common interest (ie. Dune or some other book/movie/TV show that isn't as ubiquitous as Trek or Star Wars). In those cases, I sometimes drop in to get some idea of whether it's a main interest or one of many, and occasionally will send a "Hi, I see we're both interested in ____" kind of introduction. Sometimes that leads to an interesting conversation and occasionally a new friend.

So anyone who might get such a PM from me shouldn't assume I'm angry (if I am, I'll say so).

And when someone turned up with a username very similar to mine, I visited that profile to see if we had any kind of similarities in posting style or interests that could lead to people mistaking one for the other - not hard to do for folks who have avatars and sigs disabled.

google profile... has gone viral... :)

65 followers - 1,008,382 views

my profile here is "This page has had 3,996 visits"

imagine this... :) counting things somehow...

why did my google profile go viral? and .. now what??

So is his name actually Tim Walker, or was he ####ing with you?
He hasn't even been here a year, and according to his profile his primary Trek interest is the movies. I've been here much longer, and have more varied Trek-related interests. I didn't bother checking out his posting history just now (though I did before), but I don't recall crossing paths with him much.

I honestly don't think his choice of username has anything to do with me, though it would surprise me if some people haven't mentioned to him that his name is very close to that of another member here.

Here sicne 2002. Took some time off here and there for various reasons, but still managed to have people click on me.

The last ten people to visit:
Bry Sinclair
GNDN18
IcecreamLtDan
Ithekro
Kilana2
Mr. Laser Beam
Peach Wookiee
Relayer1
SpocksOddSocks
Stevil2001

I don't even know who seven of these people are, and another one I know the name of but dont' recall anything of. And I don't know why I had a MOD looking at mine -- I haven't done anything, unless I'm going to have problems with another MOD.

Can we stop with the paranoia and posting the names of the people who have visited your page, please? As has been said multiple times, when you're on a mobile device or tablet PC and try and click on the last post icon, it's very easy to accidentally click on the link to the profile of the last poster in the thread instead.

Additionally, they may just be trying to look up a thread or post and they know you were the OP of or participated in the discussion, so they search your recent posts to try and find it.

Or they may simply have liked something you said and want to see some more of your posts or threads.

It doesn't mean anything sinister is going on or that a mod or poster is out to get you. Don't leap to the worst case scenario, and don't call people out by posting their names and questioning why they were looking at your profile. This is why we can't have nice things.
