How many light side force users should there be between ROTS and ANH?

Re: How many light side force users should there be between ROTS and A

I've never heard of that concept before. I always thought it was pretty clear that Force users used the Force, and weren't the Force themselves. If they were the Force, then they wouldn't be Force users they'd just be the Force. The Force also does effect people who aren't Force users, that's how Force users are able to physically and mentally manipulate people.

There is literally nothing in any of the six films that supports the idea that balance of the Force means either an equal number of light side and dark side users or an equal number of Jedi and Sith.

I just never thought I would have to convince someone of that.

I agree that Force-users and the Force are not one and the same. But I have no desire to continue any of the rest of this debate.

For the purposes of Yoda and Obi-wan, the Jedi are all but extinct by the Battle of Yavin. As far as they know, they are the only surviving Jedi Masters, as well as the only remaining Jedi Knights. There are certainly lost Padawan, Jedi that have fallen to the Dark Side, and those that abandoned the order remaining, but no Jedi. And none with the raw potental to take out Darth Vader, much less Palpatine. The potental in the Skywalker line is the only hope, as far at these two Masters are concerned.

If Rebels is an indication of how things are for the remaining survivors of Order 66, all that is left are Padawan learners of varying degrees of skill. Ahsoka might be the most powerful one (or at least the most skilled) of those left due to her being trained by Anakin Skywalker, and thus having to put up with him and survive his recklessness repeatedly in the Clone Wars. There were obviously more survivors that were hunted down and killed in the 19 years between ROTS and ANH. Otherwise you wouldn't need an Imperial Inquisitor to deal with things while Vader is busy. It is assumed there are more than one Inquisitor.

As for them not coming along to help out Luke during the war? The Galaxy is a big place. And while transportation across said Galaxy seems trivial in terms of time spent in hyperspace, there are things the other Rebel cells need to do locally that isn't helping out Rebel HQ.

Re: How many light side force users should there be between ROTS and A

Yeah how do we explain why none of them joined Luke after ANH?
Well, in the now-Legends young reader series Rebel Force, Luke, Leia, and co. meet Ferus Olin, a former Jedi apprentice and rival to Anakin Skywalker earlier in the years between Episodes I and II. Previously, among his other post-Order adventures, Olin had been tasked by Obi-Wan Kenobi with covertly watching over Leia Organa. When they meet him, Leia invites Ferus to join the Rebellion, but Ferus declines on the rationale that he, a Force user, would be a beacon to Palpatine and the Empire.

Re: How many light side force users should there be between ROTS and A

Now that we rebooted the continuity I would love to see surviving ex-Jedi joining the Rebellion. I always thought it was a little ridiculous that NOBODY survived to join the Rebellion. The Jedi would be the natural leaders of the Rebels.

Wasn't Qu Rahn a rebel?
