How important is for Picard to save the soul of the Federation?

Which means there are times when he has different reasons for showing up. :devil:

We'll just have to wait and see about that :confused::confused:.

The fact that Section 31 was featured prominently in the second season of Discovery and there's supposed to be another Trek series pilot focusing on Section 31 - presumably starring Michelle Yeoh - doesn't give me much hope.

For all I know Section 31 is collaborating with some Romulan scientists to produce the synth responsible for the Mars attack and massacre. Picard finds out about this only to be shut down by the Starfleet HQ, leading to his resignation.

I can see this as a potential plot to be unveiled in the series. Whether a Section 31-dominated Federation will turn it to become 'evil' of course is a subject for a lengthy discussion.

Really? never heard about kelvinverse refrencing 9/11

Picard is an allegory of today's world, which was defined by the fallout of 9/11 and increased concern in the US/Federation that they are no longer invulnerable. Sure there has always been the distant threat of nuclear war / borg, and the WTC/Breen atack, but 9/11 / Mars was a major change fo rthe US/Federation.

The other key parts of today's world are climate change, and the spread of disinformation.

The Romulus supernova is the equivalent of climate change, driving mass migration and a refugee crisis, especially if we find some dissident Romulans are behind Mars and the entire race is blamed by the Federation. No doubt a new Federation President has been elected based on the concept of building a new tachyon grid in the neutral zone to stop refugees from sneaking through. Meanwhile the entire alpha quadrant is still spewing subspace pollution from their warp drives, causing even more problems with the refugee problem. I suspect the Romulan supernova will have been caused by subspace pollution from all warp drive engines - although mainly from the Federation.

"We are going to make the Federation great again! We are going to build a space wall across the Federation territory and make Romulan refugees pay for it! There is no such thing as a subspace pollution"

Sound familiar :guffaw::guffaw::lol::lol:??

Looks like Gul Dukat has been resurrected from the dead and is elected the new Federation president :D:hugegrin::hugegrin:, https://twitter.com/realGulDukat

Why do they have to specifically mention an attack from centuries before, either fictional or real, to convey the large scale of a more recent attack? Just naming a death toll does that.

Would 9/11 have happened in a world whose history included the Eugenics Wars? I doubt it.
