How long did it take to travel across the Roman Empire at its peak?

I learned about this web site from my daughter's Latin class. It's sort of Google maps for the Roman empire.

You set origin and destination and whether you're a civilian traveler on a budget or a military traveler on an urgent mission and what season you're traveling, and it shows the route and probably time.

And that's beyond cool - thank you for enriching my life (or cutting into my sleep)! Too bad it doesn't provide a tool for estimating the toils of travel past the borders of the Empire, into the forests or deserts also included in the map area (i.e. home sweet home for so many Europeans and Africans today)... Along with a survival odds indicator, of course.
