How do you want to "go?"

Heart attack while having sex with a toy boy when I am 100.
Love it  Substitute that with girl and I'd be okay with it as a possible death. But I'd feel sorry for the girl so maybe some of the other ones.

Like for example ye olde in my sleep in me bed at a great age.

Or being the only old man in town still driving an old V8 driven car having the breaks fail and crashing into a rock wall and dying instantly.

But actually I've become convinced that I won't become that old. If I make it to 70 it's a big achievement.

That's kind of fatalistic, but then again, maybe it should be considered a big achievement for anybody to make it to 70. For that matter, making it to tomorrow is kind of a big achievement too. Kind of puts a different spin on life that way. :shifty:

Yeah it is but it's realistic in a fashion. See my parents bundled together a whole load of nice conditions and the such in a nice genetic cocktail when they had kids. So not only do we have the different kinds of things like Aspergers, ADHD and the like that are relatively harmless, but we got the more serious stuff like heart conditions, alcoholism and also diabetes (granted not the kind that is hereditary, but it doesn't really help my chances).

I don't go around thinking about this all the time, but I know it's there, and add that up with regular stuff like accidents and other diseases and it would be downright ignorant to just assume that you'd make it to 100 years of age. I just tackle this by trying to live as good as I can right now. Granted, right now is kinda crappy, but still.

^ Yeah, knowing you well enough, I figured you had a good head on your shoulders about it. I was just using the opportunity to do some shallow philosophizing. :D

What I was getting at, and this ties into your situation, is that what life we have should be cherished. Or, you know, waste it if you want to, but at least get the most bang for your buck.

Alright, well now I'm just speaking in platitudes, so I'll stop. ;)

Peacefully in my sleep, but with some warning. I'd like time to say goodbye to people, and to think back over my life and fall asleep thinking "That was a nice life", and then just never wake up.

No problem with that, feel to philosophize whenever you feel the need :)

And yeah that's what I meant with my somewhat down words. I'm also very much for getting the most bang for my buck ;)

Some warning?

"Wha? Wha?" (you shaken awake)

Family Member: "Wake up."

You: "What? Is the house on fire?"

Family Member: "You're about to die."

You: "I am?"

Family Member: "Yeah. This is your warning. I had to wake everybody up at 3 a.m., force them into my car at the last minute, and drive here, so ... they're a little pissed. Better be departing."

Of course they would. Inertia, sympathetic vibrations, et cetera. Didn't you guys ever read Rendezvous With Rama?
Not in the same way they do on Earth. It would be an odd, slow-motion kind of thing.
Oh, yeah, quite different; I imagine it to be quite mesmerizing.
Perhaps... though there would be nothing preventing one boob from going up while the other was going down. That would be a little off-putting, I think, but who knows? I'm not against boobs in free fall by any means... I'm just not entirely convinced they would be better there.

I'm terrified of dying
No sense being terrified of the inevitable.

As for dying by knife or bullet wounds... I can think of worse ways to go. Being eaten alive. Burning to death. Drowning. Slow crushing. Exposure to vacuum. Immersion in acid. Radiation sickness. The list goes on...

Ok. I didn't think of those other things, I guess I just thought of the things that you hear happen a lot. Whats an exposure to vacuum?

Exposure to vacuum - as in being tossed out of a space ship with no suit on. Kinda like suffocation, but worse.

Oh. Yeah, That would probably be worse.

With the least possible pain, in a way that is least distressing to those I leave behind, and with enough advance warning to tie up all my loose ends.

OTOH, should I ever get the chance to have a massive heart attack while in flagrante delicto with Lucy Liu, all bets are off!
