@stardream This is a link to the Googlesheet I use to keep track of my books. Actually, it is a list of books that are more or less in the current litverse continuity that I may be interested in reading in the future. I'm a data junky, lol. Books marked with an X are the ones I've actually read. It might not be *completely* accurate, and the notes I have on them are just to help me remember what the story is about or who might be in it or what I've heard about them. Some of them might be cringey descriptions so I'll go ahead and be embarrassed beforehand.
Have to admit I'm impressed, a lot more than I've tried to accomplish.

Thank you. The Descriptions are just fine!

Seeing as how I started this thread, and have finally got a decent storage solution going, figured it was only fair I came back and shared it with you all.

Mostly they're all in-universe chronological:
*Enterprise - What You Leave Behind (plus IKS Gorkon)
*Initial DS9 relaunch - Articles of the Federation
*Destiny - The Fall
and then the bottom shelf is just those that come after in publication order...

I found the thread which includes my book collection (post # 45). This is the reason for me reviving an older thread and is hopefully not frowned upon. It might help @StefanM to compare his collection with other collectors here. It would be nice to see even more pics of collections...:D

Thanks for this information, Kilana.
My Star Trek novels are arranged this way:
I have most of the german edition novels (18 books are missing yet but will be added soon).
In the first book shelf, I put the 256 novels from publisher Heyne, starting with TOS, then TNG, DS9, Voyager, Kadetten (young adult books), New Frontier, ending with Enterprise. On the last board, I have the 38 novels from Goldmann, these are the german editions of the old Bantam and Ballantine books, the novelizations of the TV episodes, plus the first real novels.
The books of current german publisher Cross Cult are in the second shelf. With all the new subseries, it's more complicated, so ein ordered the series alphabetically, starting with "Corps of Engineers", "Deep Space 9", "Destiny"....., ending with "Vanguard", "Voyager"....

I wouldn't mind one bit reorganizing my entire library by LC call number (I have nothing but contempt for Dewey Decimal).

But in practical terms:
Non-fiction by subject (entire large areas devoted to biographies and political science)
Certain specific fiction subjects get their own sections:
ADF Humanx Commonwealth (chronologically BY IN-UNIVERSE CHRONOLOGY)
Tolkien and Middle Earth Reference, with everything up to and including Unfishished Tales chronologically by in-universe chronology
Baum's original 14 Oz books
Star Wars
Robert Asprin's "Myth" books
ST: TOS/TAS
ST: TNG
ST: DS9
ST: VOY
ST: ENT
ST: Abramsverse
ST: DSC
ST short story anthologies
ST: NF
ST: SCE
B5
ST: Klingon
TOS Fotonovels
Various other minor multi-author ST series, and crossover minseries
Other non-ST, non-SW, non-B5 movie novelizations and tie-ins
All other fiction, by author, and chronologically within each author

Within each group (unless otherwise noted), alphabetical by author, then chronological by release date, except that any formal single-author series are kept together, and filed by release date of first book of series.
