One word: TRANSPORTER. You beam it in to the tribble the way Jadzia beamed that alien conscience out of Dr. Bashir in the season one episode The Passenger. If you've EVER seen an opening on a tribble when they've shown them close up, I wish you'd screencap it for me with an arrow pointing to the opening.

Given that Trek has shown that powerful bombs can be very small (a few cubic millimeters), it would be easily enough to put one in a hypo and inject the tribble.

No. Last time I watched the DS9 episode Trials and Tribble-ations and TOS episode The Trouble With Tribbles, Dr. Bashir wasn't the one who put the bomb in the tribble. Bashir did transplant the baby from Keiko to Kira so he could save both Keiko and the baby.
