Sometimes blocks are some personal stuff that needs to be dealt with. Also not balancing life and creativity. Self care and quiet solitude will take care of it. Another idea is being around like-minded people or go on a drive on a path you've never been. Talk to people you wouldn't and just listen. See if inspiration strikes.
That could actually be very useful....
And artists here could join in too..
For instance I'd love to see a model of the ship in my story done in something like Sketchup based on my written description. I'm hopeless when it comes to that program, despite having made a few models.

Since the criteria for being a writer today consists of "having access to the internet", I would think there almost certainly would be enough interest.

As a gay man, I flinch whenever I read that word. My brain knows that in many countries it means cigarette, but emotionally I still cringe a little.
Are you writing this story sequentially? Maybe write the end, or a conversation in the middle. Don't write it in order. They say the only way to get over a writer's block is to write. Good luck!
Oh the end is done..... I like the end it's bitter and dark. NO sequel, no follow up. Well maybe if my protagonists regenerates from death...hahaha
To be fair most of the writing I do involves vitriol laden emails and or rants. those rants do not just write themselves y'know. Occasionally the machine gets stuck.
My solution is to post a variety of unhelpful comments on BBS'.
Now, that may LOOK like i am simply shirking work to the untrained eye, but it's actually my 'process'.

Have a day or so away from it, making your brain do q's little as possible, then eat cheese, drink strong lager and fill your head with the story for a couple of hours before bed. Wake up and write it down.

When I was finishing my first novel I found that making sure I wrote something every single day was critical. It didn't matter how good or bad it was ... I had to write, keep writing, and trust that the subsequent revision process would weed out the good from the bad.
In fact, there were several points where I went back and made major revisions during the original draft simply because, as I was continually writing, I found ways out of dead ends that required significant changes in the sequence of events and so on.
I'm about 2/3 of the way through my second novel and have been stuck there for some time ... because I haven't been writing regularly. It's a habit I need to get back into.

I'm doing it today. Yay on a roll..... I love my voice recorder as it gets me writing once I take notes

Lately, I'll write a sentence and start to exit the program, only for a loud voice in the back of my head to start screaming "WRITE! WRITE! WRITE!" until I stop trying to exit, and just start typing.
It seems that apathy is my enemy at the moment, and my brain's motivation has decided to come to my "aid".
