Starbucks does suck royally in almost everything... but what makes them is the fact they are so flexible... I have not yet seen another cafe in my area that makes a white chocolate mocha, and the syrup they use for that is so thick and gives the milk a really creamy texture. Every time I try to leave them, they come up with something no one else has that's pretty much unbeatable. And I do like me some whole milk, and too many places have taken to not stocking any at all.
When I'm ordering a venti with cream, you better believe I'm not thinking about calories. If I'm having a decadent drink, it better be truly decadent. Since I am not in the habit of having a venti daily, I don't have to torture myself watering everything down.
My only beef is they haven't switched to organic yet, you can taste the difference in flavour in the milk and coffee. Sometimes though, you just need an irresponsibly massive dose of syrup and coffee, enough to fell an elephant, and it has to be Starbucks, who needs hard drugs?
Normally Le Pain Quotidien meets all my needs, but when you have a craving for a white choc drink, none to be found there... if they were willing to add that one syrup to their shelves I would be happy to never set foot in Starbucks again and get away from sitting with school kids and loud students at certain parts of the day... the clientele leaves a lot to be desired. Cool wannabe but never actually properly cool.
