To a point. But certain things just look like the time they were made in, and no other. TOS is a great example of this.
Word of God.What exactly makes it Prime? What in the show makes you think it is a continuation of "The Cage"?
Star Trek 2009 proved you can still make the retro styles work in the modern day.

That so totally works. The design lineage is natural and organic. Good job!

to make DSC fit more with the TOS and Cage, they need to call the Enterprise 'Starship-Class' instead of Constitution Class.
I was being sarcastic.Eh that retcon was like 40 years ago man
The dedication plaque denoting “Starship Class” was not present in “The Cage”.
I was being sarcastic.
Although, someone on another forum I visit used that as a nitpick against the show.
You would have hated Phase IIThe women's uniform on the original Abram's movie made no sense. Short sleeves and no way to show rank. Anyway, I liked them all. The only trek uniform I disliked was the TMP pajamas.
Discovery at least this first season had to have a dark feel, and the blue uniform worked while bring callback to the NX01 and Kelvin uniforms. This show would not have worked the same with everyone in their technicolor best.
I still think the Desperate Hours explanation that only Connie crews got the multicolor outtits at this point makes some sense. If the fleet has to be rebuilt after this events, we'll probably see more of TOS-style uniforms, and if they went with the ST:Beyond uniforms, that would be great.
I haven't come across any aside from the cast publicity photos which do a nice job showcasing the uniforms.Anyone have any good high res images of the DSC uniforms? I seem to be coming up blank here.
That was actually that crewmember's job who stands next to the lift. His job was replaced by automation.Maybe. The dedication plaque denoting “Starship Class” was not present in “The Cage”.

Maybe it was in the ward room.
