How come no one is working on the Star Trek sequel?

So looking forward to something new. Star Trek: Infinite Space and people still want to see the same old Khan shit on the screen?

I swear, if Khan is seen onscreen in the next Trek I will squat and shit into my hands and hurl it at the movie screen.

They didn't listen to Trek fans the first time around and it was success. I say don't mess with what works.

J.J. Abrams is directing that Figure 8 movie.

So its been more than a year since the movie and there's been essentially no movement on the sequel

Iron Man 2 was probably like almost in front of cameras already at this stage.

what are they doing?

Beyerstein seems to have missed the part where they've completed the story and now are "tearing it apart to see if it stands up". I've a distinct memory of seeing that posted on the frontpage of this site.

So, they must not be out of ideas if they're checking to see how their story stands up.
