How Are You Getting Ready?

The night before the premiere, I plan to pray to my Lord of Darkness, Satan, offer the ritual sacrifice of human flesh, then make myself a ham sandwich and a cup of Earl Grey tea and watch infomercials until I fall asleep on the couch. Same as every other night.

eddie, you really should try to make it up here! it'd be fun to have a VA/NOVA/DC meetup with the movie as the excuse.

I *MIGHT* have the time around the day of the release. My plans right now for that weekend are in semi-flux and if certain things don't materialize I might come up there! What the hell!

You guys can finally meet me in the flesh!

I'll be going to NJ from the 8th, though. I'm seeing it in NJ with my folks that night. can you make it for the 7th? I'll be seeing it here in NOVA with my buddies on the 7th night. really hoping you can make it!!

In case you get to meet me next month, don't worry.

The stories about me ear-raping are an exaggeration. Slightly.

Ordering some TOS uniforms to wear to opening night.

seriously?! :techman:

I wouldn't dare do it. I draw the line at the vulcan salute.

Seriously... I made this same point on Facebook. I hope to God fans don't wear uniforms or dress up like Klingons or any of that nonsense. It's movie, not a convention, folks.

Same here. This idea of coming in costume killed Serenity dead after opening night, IMHO. http://www.foxytunes.com/signatunes/

Just curious how people are getting ready for the new movie. Me, I'm having some friends over the weekend before and we are watching a bunch of TOS episodes. Probably Balance of Terror and some first season gems, with maybe Spock's Brain thrown in to sauce the goose.

I'm thinking about sacrificing a virgin...

Seriously, this type of post is the reason why Abrams and Paramount need to try and make Star Trek cool for the general population.

I've Trek-ized my desktop of my computer.

I'll possibly be wearing a golden long sleeved shirt (without a delta or stripes on the sleeves, just so you know ) black jeans and black tennis shoes, because I don't have any black calf high go-go boots from the 1960's ;)

So unless you know TREK really well, I'd just look like I stepped out from 1966, or something along those lines.

* I'll be getting a Movie Delta sometime in the future to go with the outfit, for conventions naturally, not for everyday wear, just so you know *

It takes me about two minutes to make sure I have my keys and get ready. So, that would be a little premature. Also, please those who said they are wearing a "uniform" or "costume" please, please tell me you are joking.

I wouldn't call what I'm going to wear a costume or uniform....

Shirt was bought at a Wal*Mart for about $2.00 in the mens ware dept, not in the Halloween costume dept

Black jeans were also bought at Wal*Mart for about $10.00 also in the mens ware dept.

Black tennis shoes were $20.00 also at Wal*Mart in mens dept.

You do know they sell theses "COLORS" as normal everyday clothes in most dept stores, right ?

They won't seem out of place while waiting in line at the local multiplex.

If in this day-and-age, someone is scared of a costumed geek at a movie theater, then they probably aren't really planning to see Star Trek anyway.

Last week, I went to the theater and saw four teenage girls in PrettyPrettyPrincess Plastic Tiaras and at least two guys that looked like failed prototypes for Edward Scizzorhands. Screw 'em - max out; show the whippersnappers you can screw with their heads...

The only costume I'll be wearing to the theater will be "The Temporal Birthday Suit."
