Houston becomes the largest city to elect openly gay mayor?

If my child were a homosexual I would get them immediate psychological help. Would I love them any less? Of course not. Would I let them know the error of their ways? Of course.

Question....let's say you do that...and your offspring, upon finding out, storms up to you and says, "FUCK YOU, I HATE YOU!" or something akin to that sort?

If I had a kid, and he or she walked up to me and said, "Dad, I'm gay." I'd be, "Yes, and?" They'd ask if I'm cool with it, and I'd say sure. Then I'd ask, "So, your bf or gf...hope she/he is hot!"

And, just for fun, what if your kid came home with a transgendered or an intersexed date? Let's really start seeing what sort gold can be mined from this thread, yes? :D

One of my wife's idiot relatives once asked me, "What would you do if your daughter came home and wanted to marry some lesbo?"

I replied, "Walk her down the aisle."

Fortunately, I was able to extricate myself from the conversation before he managed to sputter a retort.

:techman: Priceless!

Yeah, damn those enablers!

What is it RJ always says- he thinks he's in the 21st century, but then he wakes up and we're still in the Dark Ages. :( Fortunately, the haters are going to start dying off.

Can you identify the "haters" for us please?

People who hate gays and treat them like they have a mental illness, which they don't. People who actively discriminate against gays.

Because someone doesn't believe homosexuality is normal or natural doesn't mean they hate the person. At least for me it doesn't.

So you aren't judging others? Do you seriously expect anyone to believe that?

My vote in an election doesn't decide their ultimate fate.
I didn't realize that there was an election clause in "Judge not". You're still wallowing in your sin while chastising others for theirs.

No, I'm not. I simply think that if people tout this as perfectly acceptable I should be able to offer an opposing opinion.

Do you object to someone not voting for a political candidate for whatever reason they choose?

No, I'm not. I simply think that if people tout this as perfectly acceptable I should be able to offer an opposing opinion.
Your 'opinion', as well as your history here, shows your judgmental (and hypocritical) stance. Your perpetual, unrepentant pride in your sinful behavior while proclaiming your interpretation of Christian values is NOT something to be proud of.

You would be mistaken. Again.

And please tell me what sinful behavior I am proud of?

You also didn't answer my previous question.

Want the short list?

In no particular order:
1: A sizable portion of Christians
2: Republicans
3: Right-Wing Conservatives
4: Nazis and Nazi wannabes (Least until Himler convinced Hitler, because Hitler had no problem with homosexuals, many of his own troopers were homosexuals, actually. Plus I keep wondering about Goering. )
5: Many people below the Mason-Nixon line
6: 90% of the Polish population in Detroit/Hamtramick (I've lived there and been visited there many times over the years, so I know what I'm talking about...and it's mainly the 35 and over crowds)
7: Jamica
8: Hardcore Muslims (Though how they are ok with man touching man, but not woman touching woman makes me wonder. :rommie: )
9: The Dubya adminstration
10: California, because, as one of my lesbian friends said a awhile ago, "If we can't get married in queer central, we're doomed."
11: ABC
12: Disney

And that's the abridged list. :p

It is simply stunning that you see the world that way. You left out Fox News though.

You equate being gay with having a mental illness. That's pretty damn hateful.

I'm sorry you see it that way. However, it's the furthest thing from the truth. Really.

Think about it this way. People may hate conservatives or republicans or liberals or democrats. That does not mean we have to hate them as people. Same thing.

TLS, would you seek to have a homosexual (either gender) teacher or coach removed from their job with the school if you discovered that they were employed at your child's school?

You're proud of your judgmental behavior - that's pretty clear.

Sorry, no tolerance for intolerant people. Try again.
I was with you up to this statement.

If you practice tolerance, except for the people you find intolerant, then that isn't really tolerance. It's like shuting down someones free speach or right to assemby because you don't agree with them. I'm not saying the you have to endorse TLS's thoughts, there's is, in my mind, a difference between tolerance and acceptance. But isn't it a little too easy to shut down TLS solely because he's outside the main stream of consciousness?

How would I know they were a homosexual unless they informed my child? If they did, then yes I would. If they did not, then no, I wouldn't.

You're entitled to your opinion. Mine differs.
