So...not a phone game, but a crowd funded game. That's a little disappointing given Gearbox's involvement. Clearly not a coincidence this coincides with the 20th Anniversary sale of the games on Steam. ETA: Skimming through the info page, there is mention of a "Homeworld Mobile" listed in the backer rewards, but there's not details on what the is so far as I can see. Probably some companion app, or maybe a watered down port of the original for mobile?
The "crowd funding" amount was set at $1. From what I've read around this doesn't need to be crowd funded because it is funded by Gearbox already. This seems like a very cynical move by Gearbox to profiteer off the idea it is "crowd funded" when it's really just a rebranded pre-orders for various "collector editions". Anyway, glad that there is going to be Homeworld 3. I'm sure I'll buy it, but I'll not going to drop any money until it is done.
