Holy sh*t!! Red Dwarf is back!!!!

Hmm... I'm pawing through my Crayolas now, but I can't find a Skeptical shade. Will you take Military Grey instead?

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

I've never been one much for Coro, but... Surely some of Craig's pals from the street would get on their knees and BEG to... 15 years back there was the Dimensions in Time short which crossed Doctor Who over with Eastenders. Anything is possible.

With Doctor Who going gangbusters, Blake's 7 and The Prisoner getting the reboot, it was all but a done deal that this still popular scifi Britcom would get another day in the sun.

It was only a matter of when...and soon we may know...

That's great news if true; but will it continue from the god awful ending of series 8??

That was a great ending, I thought. What better way for a series to (potentially) end than by kicking the Grim Reaper in his manhood? I can understand why people don't like series VIII, but down on the ending, too?

The latter RD series had some issues, but you had some GREAT eps, too. And I LOVED that ending. Rimmer was a snivelling weasel, but you occasionally saw glimpses of character here and there, a bit of bravery, a snippet of loyalty and affection for his comrades, a pinch of a sense of duty and honor. This is what kept him interesting, not making him completely worthless and irredeemable.

That ending showed another glimpse of that part of him, the balls to the walls warrior he wanted to be, and hated Ace, because Ace WAS that kind of Rimmer.

Well I'm not getting my hopes up till it's official. Maybe not even then. But if it is true I'll gladly watch/buy any new Red Dwarf, because even bad Red Dwarf was fairly good.

I didn't mind the last two series so much. Sure, they may not be as consistently brilliant as some of the earlier stuff, but the only bit that made me cringe was the silly stiffie-joke during the basketball game.

To each their own. Some people only like certain periods of the show. A friend of mine only likes the first two seasons, he's not really fond of anything after that. I'm a big fan of Kryten myself, so I basically like series 3 onwards, but I still like the first couple as well..

Anything bad in series 8 is immediately and automatically countered by the sheer awesomeness of Krytie TV.

And if they continue from the end of s8, well it's too hard to do is it? Just say the broken mirror was fixed in the mirror universe. Done.

Then again what do I know? I love the alternative ending to Only the Good...

Well. That was hilarious.

I sometimes forget how beautiful Chloe Annette is because of how atrocious and hammy an actress she is.

I'm skeptical but damn hopeful. I'm also hoping it's a full series, not just a 1-hr special.

Series VIII kinda fell apart towards the end. "Only the Good" is especially problematic. However, the Grim Reaper ending is one of the hands down funniest moments in series history! (Right next to Lister's shrinking boxers in "Polymorph" & the King of the Potato People in "Quarantine.")

alternative ending?

Shit.

YOUTUBE!!!!

Which alternative ending? There were 2 (plus one more that was almost but never actually filmed). Actually, although the Grim Reaper ending is the funniest one, I think that the Ace Rimmer one would have provided the most interesting story possibilities.
