Hole in the moon

I'm going to regret asking this, but whatever for? (And the word "lizard" better not be in the answer.)

Well, time to start getting some 'bots ready and start dropping some rovers down the hole. Never know what we might find, and if nothing else it might give us some hints into the moon's past.

Bah, Reptilians. Everyone knows the real threat is the bug invasion fleet inbound from Klendathu.

The Sun would suck up a nuke and say, "Ahhh! may I have another!?"

To the Sun, nukes are like Lay's potato chips. The Sun can't have just one.

Anyways, to topic. I don't understand why everybody's so excited about this. I say we need a hole on the Moon like I need a hole in the hea-

Never mind.

PurpleBuddha,

Isn't there a treaty, I believe it's the 1967 Outer Space treaty that prohibits any nation from building military bases on the moon?

Yes, military bases on the moon are out. Of course, if it ever becomes practical and important to put them there the treaty will probably be ditched.

So we're thinking of sending a rocket to penetrate the moon's hole.

Geez, how metaphorical do you need to get?

I wonder how much over-blown the media will make such a maneuver like they did with the "bombing the moon" thing.
