Hockey Talk - 2007-2008 Season

^ It was a pretty good game wasnt it? Since I actually watched it this time haha.

Yeah, I'm split on whether I'm rooting for the Flames or not, but good on them for that come-back (so far).

Hey, I am DBR, one of your few friends here.

Nice to meet you.

I'm actually a Canucks fan, being from Vancouver Island, but if there's one thing us Canuckers are good at, it's jumping onto another team's bandwagon when our team disappoints once again. Since I'm currently living in Calgary, it's almost a survival thing to just root for them and blend in. ;)

Yeah. The Canucks are my second team. The Leafs are my first. I know the feeling all-too well. ;)

Well, shit!

If NHL games were only 2 periods, the Avs would be up 3-0 right now. And if my aunt had a dick, she'd be my uncle.

Did anybody see Sean Avery's "screen" of Brodeur last game?

INTERPRETATION OF RULE 75 – UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

NEW YORK/TORONTO (April 14, 2008) -- National Hockey League Senior
Executive Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell
today issued the following advisory on the interpretation of Rule 75 -
Unsportsmanlike Conduct: "An unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty (Rule
75) will be interpreted and applied, effective immediately, to a situation
when an offensive player positions himself facing the opposition goaltender
and engages in actions such as waving his arms or stick in front of the
goaltender's face, for the purpose of improperly interfering with and/or
distracting the goaltender as opposed to positioning himself to try to make
a play."

why doesn't he just get down on all fours and bark like a dog?

^ That would make him a bi... err wait, he already is. God I hate that little bastard. If anyone deserved a puck right to the face...

Gary Roberts' succinctness when asked about this cracked me up.

"He's an idiot," Penguins forward Gary Roberts said.

That's funny, too, about the unfortunate mural choice in Ottawa. I don't get the Versus network, so I'm stuck following games on radio and online stats, but what a beginning to the third period the Penguins had last night! I hope they can complete the sweep and get a nice break to await their next opponent.

Breaking News out of Vancouver.

Canucks Fire GM Dave Nonis.

The Vancouver Canucks have fired Dave Nonis after three seasons as the team's general manager.

The hell? Honestly, I didn't see this coming at all. As difficult as this last season was, I figured they'd keep him around for at least one more.

So... any bets on his replacement?
No , no bets

But I'm glad Dave 'NONUTZ' Nonis is gone, other than getting Louongo he did nothing.
the team needs to be gutted at the core.

I cheered out loud when the Preds scored the winning goal last night, and I guffawed when they showed Chelios afterwards.

I was mainly laughing at Hasek. Just for the mere fact that I really dont like him. Woo preds!

Well, shit!

Except they're not, they're three. :techman::techman:
Which is unfortunate, because the Sens might be doing better if they were.

Some of these rules seem so arbitrary to me.

But I guess if it's against the rules it's against the rules.
