Hobby and Craft Motivation Thread

Well, the best thing about telescopes for the most part is that they all share the same basic idea. I've seen many telescopes cobbled together with different parts, so as long as you can find something relatively the same size, it doesn't matter who the manufacturer is. You can just shoot for something similar and achieve the same result.

Edit: Also, what often happens in the industry is that scopes will be manufactured and then branded many different times depending on region. Even if a particular brand is no longer available, it's most likely still available via a different brand. So, something to think about.

A good rather inexpensive alternative would be a Rigel Quickfinder. http://www.company7.com/rigel/products/qwikfinder.html

Yeah, hopefully I've started you off down the right direction. If you have any other questions related to that, don't hesitate to ask :)

I'm beginning a creative project just for me. No one else is involved and I'm only doing it for myself so I have no one to disappoint if I don't complete it.

I hope to finish this one. We'll see.

Brainstorming sessions have been exceptionally productive in the last couple of days.

I have some creative projects going on as well, again, just for me.
I have 4 albums of songs in process or in completion, but as my knowledge of my DAW and assorted plugins increases, I want to improve what I already have stored.
Older stuff I'll have to redo, newer stuff is continuous, although motivation and lack of belief in my ability is a factor.
I've also loads of songs, and partial songs that I've never recorded, so I have to find the time to do very rough demo recordings of them too, it's endless, but when I'm in the mood, it's fun.

OK, I've made some progress with painting.

For Warhammer 40K: all the Death Guard are completely painted and finished. Two boxes of Imperial Guardsmen are almost done, I just need to fix some small mistakes and seal them. The two Astra Militarum armor pieces are painted, but my son may want to change them so I won't seal them. The Space Marines still need to be finished.

For Fallout Wasteland Warfare: I assembled all the models from the core boxes of the Survivors and Super Mutants(including the suiciders). I primed them, but something must have gone wrong because they remained tacky. I stripped them in Simply Green over the weekend.

For Blood Red Skies: three squads of six plains primed and ready to be painted.

Two Soviet Tank Models: primed and varnished, ready for oil weathering.

The biggest issue this summer has been trying to find time to use any rattle cans. It's simply too hot and generally too humid to get anything done.

I tidied up my attic and dug out 4 unfinished quilts. The last project I made was a quilt for my aunt who was in hospital with terminal cancer. I finished it 2 days before she died and after that I somehow lost the taste for patchwork/quilting. But patchwork is highly addictive and atm I am gathering folks who'd like to participate to a friendship quilt for @Ghost07 And after that I'll finish those 4 unfinished ones.

This is the one I made for my aunt. She was particularly fond of what she called "hare krishna colours", hence the autumn-ish colour scheme which then rather automatically resulted in that pattern (it is called autumn-leaf)

I just paint mostly. Oil, oil pastels and water colors.
I posted some on some place to save pictures. I have done on Deniant art and some other place of which the name evades me. I can't post anymore on Deviant art as I can't remember my password.
And th other site, well, I can't remember what site it is so most likely I don't know the pass word either.:ack:
