History of Now (BBC Two)

Bob The Skutter

Complete Arse Cleft
In Memoriam
Anybody else been watching this retrospective on the last decade? It's kind of a historical look at how British society has changed over the "noughties".

It's an interesting look back but it all seems a fairly depressing statement about our country and society right now.

iPlayer link to episode 1.

I'll probably catch up with it this weekend. If I ever get home in one piece.

I've watched the series so far and it's been interesting and informative; as well as serving a reminder why I didn't care much for popular culture and media in the decade just passed. Boring and talentless but "relatable" celebrities, lack of aspiration beyond material wealth, and an obsession with "youthfulness" going hand in hand with the demonisation of young people themselves.

I have seen both parts and it reminds me how out of touch i am.
I have never held a I-phone or a i-pod in my life.

I have just watched the third part and i was wondering if i was the only one who felt they were living in a different Britain to everyone else.

Not watched it yet, but after the first 2 parts I certainly wish I was living in a different Britain.
I just love how the program made out that the normal working class person could suddenly go out and buy a designer gear and it had not come off back of a lorry.

Didn't seem like it was suggesting that to me, it seemed like it was saying people were going out and buying stuff on credit, then Primark and Topshop started doing cheap knock offs that people could afford.
