Hey, I never noticed that before....

And the saucer was originally built for the Columbia production The Ambushers (1967), the third in the series of four Matt Helm films starring Dean Martin.

OMG that photo makes it look like a fun vehicle. Pity we don't have them.

When Kirk is being examined in Sick Bay after the landing party beams back up, he is laying flat on the examination bed. The "buzzing fly" sound effect happens, and Kirk gets up and begins talking to McCoy about how the ship has likely been "invaded." The cool thing I never noticed is that Kirks hair "moves" for a split second like a burst of air had hit it- just as the buzzing noise is happening, as if he has been touched.

I'm definitely going to look for that next time around. They must have used an air hose, just off camera.

In LTBYLB during the destruct engage sequence there are closeups of Lokai's face. You can plainly see the red line that Fred Phillips drew to seperate the black and white makeup sides of his face.

Here's one that I just noticed for the first time. My wife and I just watched "The Enterprise Incident" (a first time for her, the first time in many years for me.) During the scene when Romulan-Kirk fights his way into the Romulan cloaking room, he's looking around the room at first, but can't figure out where the Cloaking Device is located.

A Romulan guard comes in, and Kirk tells him that "somebody is trying to steal the Cloaking Device". The Romulan makes a quick glance with his eyes in the direction of the Device, right in the center of the room, and that's what helps Kirk identify what exactly he has to steal.

That was a bit of silliness. Shatner having to intentionally NOT notice the giant obvious device smack dab in the center of the room, and browse the bland control panels.

Worse than that, the Romulan Commander intentionally averting her eyes from where the cloaking device should be until its absence is called to her attention.

IIRC, I think D.C. Fontana originally conceived of the Romulan cloaking device as being something much smaller -- small enough that you could stick it in your pocket. That would explain how those scenes were scripted.

In a recent re-watch of "The Gamesters of Triskelion", I noticed that after Kirk throws the spear through Lars in the final fight, Lars is lying in the background for the rest of the sequence with the bloody, pointy end of the spear sticking out of his back. This was the first time I spotted that.

You mean out of his belly. :)

I just noticed that Nichelle got billed above Jimmy and Walter in this one.

Also not noticed by me until late in life was the fact that Shatner crunched his communicator when he rolled over it when they popped in. The grille is bent and stuck open in a few shots after he gets up. Also, Shatner has no heels on his boots in the fight scenes.

Is he a shorty?
