Hey, I never noticed that before....

I just checked and the version I got for Christmas years ago was a special limited edition that has the original 1977 STAR WARS theatrical amorphic transfer on a single separate disc. I'm really not a big Star Wars fan but the friend who got it for me knew I loved the original 1977 Star Wars theatrical release and that's why he got it for me when he saw it.

My ideal release, in a truly perfect world, would be a release of all versions of the original trilogy that allowed you to pick and choose which version of each scene you prefer for an ideal personal cut. In mine Han shot first and the horrible Return of the Jedi "musical" number is nowhere in sight, but the Jabba scene in New Hope is fine and the added scenes of various planets celebrating at the end of RotJ remain (though the music at the Ewok celebration is the original).

The original Star Wars (Before they had to give it that stupid and ill-advised new title) will always be the best of the bunch and I still love it even after all these years! :adore:

According to TMOST (page 191), the Enterprise has six shuttlecraft.
If there are only 4, why is Galileo 1701/7?
I can head canon that the six shuttlecraft use ID numbers 1701/2 through 1701/7, while 1701/1 is not used since ship one of the ID sequence is technically the Enterprise itself. (Not trying to start a debate on numbering ships, again. :shifty:)

I, like you, am fine with some of the alterations. ROTJ was improved by the 1997 Special Edition, but it just started going to far with adds. Vader's "No" is ridiculous and hearing "Weesa Free!" during the added Naboo shot was just terrible.

However, I thought opening up the the sequence beyond Endor made it feel like a much larger victory.

TESB was perfectly edited from the beginning, they just needed to fix some effects shots (which was done). Adding the Wampa was "meh" but okay, that's fine. The added Luke scream was terrible when he stepped off the platform at the end but to their credit, they removed it. However, replacing Vader's disappointed "bring my shuttle" with "alert my star destroyer to prepare for my arrival" was unnecessary. Changing the Emperor and removing Jason Wingreen's Boba Fett voice was just unfortunate.

Star Wars? Holy crap, they made Mos Eisley far to large and over populated with creatures. This film just needed some effects updates, the rest was pretty perfect. The Greedo scene is a travesty, from the awful rendering of Han didging the laser to the most recent "maclunky...." I can't even watch the damned movie on Disney plus...

But man this got derailed...

.

1. Joe, despite being supposedly shaken up by the deaths of the scientists on Psi 2000, pretty disrespectfully puts his hazmat suit glove on top of the frozen/dead engineer's head when he does his scan that results in his infection.
.

I never thought about that before. And it’s before he was infected, so he really has no excuse for being so disrespectful.

When it comes to favorite films the original "Star Wars" is top of the list. The film as it stands is probably the most imaginative in terms of possibility.
What do you mean? Star Trek and Star Wars are basically the same, right?

*ducks*
Two sides of the same coin, in my opinion.

Last month I found one parked on The Streets of San Francisco. Not a Quinn Martin Production.

Just watched Court Martial, and never noticed that

1. There is a gold trim around the black collar on Lt Shaw’s uniform
2. Captain Kravnoski wears a blue dress uniform. I always assumed the two guys wearing yellow / green were the starship captains Stone refers to, but it’s clear who he nods to as he gives each introduction.

There goes my theory that captains only wear gold. Maybe he's a retired captain who just hangs around prosecuting people and when they're out of action they can if they choose wear their former speciality colour.
Hmmm gold trim - a legal thing?

It would have been more obvious if they had given her medals as seen on the other dress uniforms.

Anything is possible. Not likely, but possible.
