Hewlett and Picardo to appear on SGU!!

Just as long as they don't make him a villainous prick like he was in his first SG-1 appearances.

they'll dour him down

You just scream optimistic!

yeah cause they have handled Daniel and Jack so well as far as their character traits are concerned.

As much as Jack was a clown (in a good way) at times, when he needed to make a serious decision/when he was being serious, it's been pretty much as portrayed in SGU.

Daniel had a handful of scenes in SGU, some of which were him recorded on a video for Eli. How do can you measure his SGU changes on that?

Jack from seasons 1-6: Clown-like but knew when to be serious, and usually was, for the most part.

Jack from seasons 7-10: An unfunny, predictable walking sarcastic joke, who you could never take seriously, and was in turn hardly ever serious on the show.

The Jack on SGU thankfully ditched his clown-ish behaviour when SG-1 the series got mostly terrible, but it feels like they've gone a tad too far.

My concern is is will McKay and Woolsey actually be important to the episode, or just meaningless cameos that could be handled by anyone, we're just seeing these characters for stunt casting.

Just like the SG-1 characters. We could have Young reporting to any general, and any random starship commander could have been used in the premiere and finale. In fact, replace O'Neill and Carter with any other character speaking the same dialogue, and you wouldn't change anything about those episodes.

TELFORD: What makes us so special?

GEN. HAMMOND: I know what makes me special.

No, I'm not quite seeing it.

Well, obviously I exaggerated a bit. However, only three times in SGU has there been any truly unique O'Neill moments. The aforementioned "what makes me special," Making fun of Eli living with his mother, and getting nostalgic abour pyramids. Otherwise, most of his dialogue is generic enough that it can be spoken by any other general, we're just getting O'Neill for suntcasting purposes.

I see Woolsey being more of a cameo with McKay getting a meaty part. McKay will get some good screen time with Rush.

Has Woolsey ever been anything but stunt casting? "Look, we've got that guy from Voyager!"
McKay could have a decent part if its done well, and a part that actually suits the character as we know him. Woolsey, I can't see being any different than his usual pointless archetype.

^I think you're being a little unfair to Picardo there. Yes, Stargate hires a lot of actors who have been in other Sci-Fi shows but he was also a very well established film and television character actor well before he ever appeared in Voyager.

Besides, Robert Picardo auditioned for the role of Woolsey when he was first introduced on SG-1. Stunt casting is when they pursue a specific well-known actor for a role.

^^ I think if he makes up a funny name, bitches about the food, or whines about something he'll be a target for for either Greer or Young's wrath.

I wonder how much McKay will piss off Rush...it shouldn't take that long for some friction between them to happen.

I don't think they would have too many problems, mostly because they both have little tolerance for idiots and such, but I would imagine Rush would be a bit resentful of McKay.

They ought to have Rodney switch bodies with her:
