Heroes Virtually Cancelled

Watchmen was not the first or only time this has ever been done. There's also the Wild Cards books, and Super Folks back in the 70s. The basic concept goes back at least as far as Fantastic Four #1.

What is Heroes all about

That's exactly the problem.

It's about people who sometimes have powers and no sense of direction in their lives.

It's about a show that has no sense of direction in its life. :D Other than towards Cancellation City, I spose...
What is Zachary Quinto like in it is he insane

I doubt Zachary Quinto is insane. He comes off quite well in interviews - thougtful, intelligent, artistic. His fashion sense is probably the most insane thing about him.

why is the character like Sylar evil

That's a far more complicated question than you realize, because the writers haven't even figured it out. They've implied that Sylar is a mentally ill guy who happened to get superpowers and that he's also a sane guy who has been driven insane by his superpowers. Both ideas are interesting, but when you ping-pong between both ideas in the same character...eeesh.
