Here's yer snow...

It's pretty brutal here and it's approaching as bad as those pics but I don't think we're there yet.

Last year in Quebec city we celebrated the city 400 anniversary with a record of 558,4 cm. Yeah !

 I'd love to experience that in person.

Right, Quebec wins, then...

We're all very proud. :D

We had so much snow last year, that they ran out of places to put it, so they started dumping it at the site of what was once a large rail yard (which is an immense ecological hazard, but that's Québec for you). It became so large that, as of the end of last summer, it still hadn't melted yet.

That said, I've never seen anything like this before!

as a South Floridian who has never actually even seen snow I find these pics terrifiying. Especially the hot tub one & them outside in shorts! :wtf:BRRR!

If you go to Disney in January it seems like the only people at the water parks are Canadians.

"75 degrees isn't HOT enough to swim?"

Original post in wrong thread.

As for the snow in Quebec: The wife is got homesick seeing all the snow...what I get for marrying a canuck.

Using a hot tub is best when it's cold, icy and snowy, not when it's warm out. That's why many ski resorts have those.:bolian:

 There was a similar pile of snow just east of the Kipling subway station here in Toronto last year, if memory serves. I forget when it finally melted, but it took a looooong time. (And it was pretty disgusting, too - it was literally black.)

Hot Tubs are usually right by the houses/ski lodges....., with a nice big towel and the door merely several steps away, you will be okay. It's like stepping out of the shower, a bit nippy but all is well in the world.

When I was on the swim team, we would slide around in the snow then run back inside and jump in the pool. Lots of fun! ;)

I can barely stand those couple minutes right before I put on clothes when getting out of the shower and this is when its only in the 40's/50's here... I'm totally a cold weather wimp.:alienblush:
