That little wizard hexed the poll! Say it with me people: "Wingaurdium Leviosa Enterprisum!" and keep voting ...

The internet-wide Trekkie population should be ashamed of itself. That's all I have to say... Now I'm going to kill the lights and cry myself to sleep... Again... :(

It doesn't matter because we have already won. Rejoice I say!

The poll has been taken down and Trek has won.

Trek beat Potter. Mission Accomplished.

Frak me, the last time I checked, HP was having a 3% lead. Wooohooo! Screw you, you four-eyed, stick wielding asshole! Trek power, baby! Wooohooo!
Blood wine for everyone!

I can't help but find it amusing that Star Trek saw serious competition from a movie about a boy wizard and his friends that was targeted at children and young adults. Then again Megan Fox won the "best actress" category, so it's kind of obvious how shallow this poll really was.

HP is not targeted just at children and young adults. If it was only targeted to kids, it probably wouldn't have earned the $5.41 billion the series has earned at the worldwide box office.

Sure it would've. It's supposed to be family friendly, so parents went along, brought all 2.5 of their kids, who might have brought some friends, and probably went more than once.

There are a hell of a lot of Potter fans out there, the fact us 'Trekkies' saw them off is quite a feat! After all, these awards are essentially driven by voting blocs rather than common sense. If Twilight was amongst the nominees we would have been in trouble... never underestimate the power of teenage girl driven fandom. They are insane. Hence the billions of awards Twilight has got from internet voting.

Wow, great work, Trek!

I'm actually a little surprised by how close this vote was. Are there really as many internet obsessive Potter fans, as there are Trekkies? I thought 20% of the Internet was taken up by Trek fan sites! Or something like that.

Well, considering they had to have midnight book sales, HP fans are probably just as fanatic/crazy as us.
