Legit question as I haven't yet stated anything in this thread.
No, I've never been to any dedicated furry cons. Haven't been to a con of any sort in nearly 10 years, but when I did, they were all Atlanta based conventions. "Dragon*Con" was my "usual" visit off and on from 1992 to 2006. It covered just about anything and everything and like a Borg cube, "assimilated" the smaller cons that had been around for several years. It's now the Deep South's answer to the San Diego Comic Con.
The nearest "furry" cons, at least those I knew existed, were in Tennessee or farther away. Besides, D*Con had (and I guess still has) something for everyone.
Nowadays, large crowds unsettle me (D*Con attracts 60K attendees, oy!) and the lodging is just too expensive. Just about anything that might intrigue me I can find on-line. Collectibles? eBay, Amazon, and on-line shops. Costume "watching"? A myriad different on-line galleries. Art? See previous statement. Fan films? YouTube fills that niche. Yeah, I'm a bit of a hermit now that I'm in my early 50s.
Sincerely,
Bill
