Hellboy II is gonna PWN Iron Man's ass!!!

Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Iron Man. He was easily my most favorite character in the MARVEL animated movie series, both in the two Ultimate Avenger flicks and the stand-alone film. And I'm sure the Robert Downy, Jr. film will be great, but I just saw the new Hellboy II trailer and it looks to be a much better and more exciting comic book/fantasy film than Iron Man is, or will be.

With del Torro's experience with Pan's Labyrinth, it looks like he has taken lessons learned from that film and applied them heavily to Hellboy II. Check out that new trailer, if you haven't already done so, and tell me I'm not right.

I am in complete agreement. Hellboy II looks like a far more interesting film to me than Iron Man. That Iron Man is getting more hype and attention is a tad perplexing; I suppose it's because he's a more popular character and there's a bigger promotion campaign or whatever.

Yeah, just the shear number of creatures and stuff that's gonna be in Hellboy II is nothing short of astonishing. Of course, quanity doesn't always make for a better story or film in this case, but with del Torro behind it and his success with Pan's Labyrinth, I gotta have hope/faith in that Hellboy II will be well worth the wait as a sequel to the first.

meh . . . I'll probably catch it on video

Well, same here, as I haven't gone to the theater since LOTR:TTT, but I'm just saying that Hellboy will be a more interesting film than Iron Man. I wasn't referring to box office figures.

You mean it wasn't glaringly obvious?

No in either case. Never heard of the character before the movie was announced and haven't been following the promotions.

The only way I could make any sense out of the characters in the first movie was to pretend that the supposedly normal FBI guy was, unbeknownst to himself but not to John Hurt's HellStepDaddy, gifted with healing powers. He was recruited to heal Hurt's character and restore Bimbo's sanity.

Otherwise, the character relationships were inexplicable.

And David Hyde-Pierce doesn't seem to be particularly snobby but there's a reason he didn't take a credit for this movie!

According to IMDB:

Asked not to be credited as the voice of Abe Sapien in Hellboy (2004) because he felt the characterization of Abe truly belonged to Doug Jones (the actor who played Abe on the set).

But, I haven't seen Hellboy, so I can't comment on the quality of the film or not.

Nah, c'mon.

Iron Man is cooler.

Sure, Hellboy's neat and all.

But he's no Tony Stark.

Iron Man will rake in more dough and I suspect have a better story and better overall acting.

I still expect to thoroughly enjoy Hellboy II, however.

Loved Hellboy but WTF ? Trevor Broom returns in HB-2 ?
I thought del Toro killed John Hurt's character off, what's this bringing superheros back from the dead BS ?

Trevor won't be returning from the dead, instead the character will only be in newly filmed flashback scenes.
