HBO's "Westworld", starring Anthony Hopkins/produced by J.J. Abrams

The reason it can't be a copy of William is A) William wouldn't help Dolores, even young William, and B) William would be showing through his paranoia and lack of empathy more.

William isn't a good guy who turned into a monster. He's a monster who shed his good guy costume.

Peter Abernathy seems the most logical guess right now.

People really ought to cut it out with these theories about Dolores having figured out in less than a hundred days how to transplant human consciousnesses into Host bodies without said consciousnesses and bodies breaking down.

The showrunners not only spent the better part of Season 2 demonstrating the impossibility of trying to turn humans into Hosts, but Dolores by and large sees humans as inferior to her and her fellow Hosts - although Caleb might change that opinion over time as they work together - and so she wouldn't have turned a human into a Host even if she could have.

The persona inside Host Hale is someone who used to be a Host in the parks, and their confusion stems from being stuck in Hale's body and not knowing how to fully acclimate.

They're also somebody who was close to Dolores but was generally non-violent, and the two Hosts who best fit that criteria are her parents.

Almost immediately after Episode 3 ended, my opinion was that she'd uploaded her dad's pearl into Hale's body and that the confusion Host Hale was experiencing stemmed from the fact that his original personality hadn't been intact when she did so, but then I remembered that we ever so briefly saw her mother a few times in Season 1 and realized that she fits everything we currently know about the persona inside Host Hale even better than Peter Abernathy does.

One funny thing just came to my mind: Mr. Hale is non other than Almost Human's Dorian (Michael Ealy), an Android with flaws (Emotions/Feelings).
Ah, I never watched that show. I know (and love) him from Stumptown. Seems like he's a rising star and for good reason. He's terrific.

Westworld TV ratings are significantly down this season. The lowest rated episode was 0.78 and the latest was 0.80. Prior to this the lowest was 1.11 million. I wonder if we will even get a season 4 at this low level of viewership... After all the budget for this season actually seems like it has increased.

I would be very sad if Westworld never got a planned ending.

Another subtle hint it is Peter Abernathy. When she talks to Dolores alone she has a southern accent.

The same reason I think the other guy is Lawrence.

I too have been really impressed with the show this season. I love the parallels it draws during Dolores conversation with Caleb with his situation and that of the hosts. This was kind of the thematic point all along comparing the hosts with slaves, and in this episode a class of people maintained in servitude due to their economic/personal situation. It brings the thematic structure of the show to a new level entirely.

I personally think HBO will give Jonah and Lisa the opportunity to give their Westworld story a definitive ending provided they can find the time, even if the viewership numbers are on the decline.

Casey Bloys revealed last summer that Jonah and Lisa already have deals in place to do two more seasons, but no official decisions had been made as far as officially greenlighting said seasons.

I thought the 3rd. episode was dull as dirt. The only "good stuff" for me was the Delores/Caleb stuff. Glacerial pacing does not help character beats. I watched the episode again, a couple days after my initial viewing. Didn't help; only made my opinion of the 'dull' moments more strong. Story needs to pick it up some....

Story is really slow, and they intentionally spend a lot of it trying to make sure you don't really know what's going on. Add that to a long layoff between seasons, toss it behind a pay wall, and yeah, low ratings aren't a shock.

I'm watching, but it's less fun than before.

Three episodes in, I like it better than I liked the first three episodes of season two.

Episode four was the worst one last year, then the show suddenly got better, and better...

Haunting episode tonight.

In retrospect, that's probably a perfect solution to the identity of Dolores's compatriot's. Obvious in it's way, and yet kind of completely out of left field. Makes me wonder if they are all going to stay on the same page, or if we might see some kind of civil war play out later on.

A bigger game is being played here than either Bernard or Maeve were prepared for. I'm curious how this is going to play out.

I really liked the way the "pearls" played out---that was well done.

I hope Maeve is back soon in some form. I love that character.

Wow, what a great episode. The reveal about the pearls was very well done. Poor Paris!

We are exactly half way through the 3rd season, and it is way better than last season. But the show may never reach the height of the first season with the great wild west settings which was fantastic.
