HBO Max Streaming Service Thread

^ Supergirl's costuming and per-episode effects costs aren't in the thousands-of dollars range, whereas Swamp Thing's were.

Swamp Thing was CGI? I had assumed that was a costume, but all I've seen are trailers, so I haven't gotten real good look at him.

Yeah, you're not wrong. They'll probably have to make him a practical effect, and he'd look completely different.

Almost all of Swamp Thing's appearances in the series were achieved through costuming and makeup, and the costume they made cost a large chunk of change to manufacture.

Ah. That's a cool costume. Well then, it's already made - s2 should be significantly cheaper then 1 then?

As far as I'm aware, nothing from the series was saved, so the sets and costumes would have to be recreated from scratch, and they were very expensive to manufacture.

The CGI for the series - such as it was - was also incredibly expensive because, as I noted, the per-episode budget for the show was in the thousands of dollars range.

Isn't every show in the thousands of dollars range?

I find it hard to believe shows like The Flash and Supergirl aren't at least in the 4-5 digit range per episode.

Swamp Thing had a much larger overall budget than Flash or Supergirl, and yet the production blew it all on just 10 episodes when they had an order of 13 episodes to fill.

So it stands to reason that its per-episode budget was significantly larger than either Flash or Supergirl's

I've never heard of The Direct, how trustworthy are they?
Apparently whatever issues came up with The Hobbit movies has been resolved, all three are back on HBO Max.

Sorry for the tangent here, but anyone know if HBO Max will be available on Either Xfinity/COmast or Roku anytime this century?

Damn, it seems like there are very few shows and movies these days that are actually able to hang on their original showrunners and/or directors.

So with WOnder WOman coming to HBOMax... anyone think (or know) if they will finally got onto platforms like Xfinity or Roku? We would REALLY like to be able to watch it on one of our TV's, in a simpler way than now.

Can your Roku mirror your phone or PC? That's how I watched Raised By Wolves before Fire TV finally got HBO...

First of all, I wish HBO and Roku would get their shit together. It's ridiculous we can't watch HBO Max on Roku TV's.

Second, I've watched a couple of things so far: Doom Patrol (one of the weirdest shows ever). Started Raised by Wolves but just couldn't get into it. I might revisit it sometime. And I just started The Flight Attendant.
