I thought the essential idea was good, but there was no explanation and the resolution was certainly lame. The concept had much more potential.

I'm expecting something like that. Like Aragorn says, they've accepted too easily the idea that it's her Mother. It's time travel, or astral projection or she's an immortal with amnesia-- or something.

I haven't seen this episode yet, but I'm hoping it's good. The previews made it look like Werewolves, and all this talk of taxidermists and Human golems is intriguing. :D

Nah. In a show like this execution is key and they're just not getting it right. I refuse to be sucked into an intriguing premise only to be disappointed.

I'll watch Waltons reruns instead.

well... as a child of the 60's who spent the first 10 years of his life watching star trek and lost in space and space 1999.... I say any science fiction is good science fiction... it won't be around forever and in 10 to 20 years you'll be rehashing what the episodes were like anyway.... so yeah... I watch it... and think... if it gets canceled it gets canceled..... who cares... I've watched hundreds of science fiction shows just like it that got canceled since I started watching tv as a 5 year old in 1964 (and remembering it)... so hay... it's good for the moment..... and better then reruns.... so enjoy...

The showrunners claim they have answers and closure if the show doesn't get renewed, but six episodes into a thirteen episode season... shouldn't we have some storyline openings by now? :p

Aragorn... depends... would a multi year story arch want to disclose all the cards it's holding in the first year.... at least if it doesn't go farther then that there is closure.

^^ I agree about Lexx. Good show, and better than a lot of garbage that gets "buzz."

Well, last week's episode was the worst so far, and this was the best so far. I love the idea of the animals coming back to life (especially since it's so similar to an idea I had for a Night Stalker episode 35 years ago :D), especially with the twist that both the guy and his mother were stuffed. Also, Audrey now has an ally in her search for information and Nathan has a sort of ally, too-- advising him that his numbness is evidence of some special power.

And those with these powers are now apparently referred to as "troubled."

I half suspect she's (audrey) related to the witch referenced at the beginning of each episode.
or at least the problems are....

There's also a possible reference to Randall Flagg in the title sequence; I'll have to look at that more closely and see what else is there.

I watched it again yesterday (got crappy basic/expanded cable & nothing else was on last night.) Landon's mother knew she was stuffed!:wtf: When she's talking to Audrey & Nathan in the car she says something like "father told me to be careful, I thought I was." Her dad stuffed her! :eek:

I thought she meant to be careful about bringing things to life, but you may be right.

naa... I watched it again too....
seems the whole family line for several generations eventually became puppets... what audrey's trying to prevent is the little boy eventually becomming a puppet himself, by withholding key bits of information from the family.

That's what I thought.

By keeping quiet that the mother/grandmother was stuffed, the son/father might not think to stuff the boy. As it is, wouldn't someone had to have already had their kids before they're stuffed?

Id have a lot of fun wirh that girl's drawing power. Imagine if she could draw things into existance?

It leaves a lot of open questions. Did they find a safe way to dispose of the art? or is there a collection of little "Dorian Grey"s in Maine now?

I think that was the portfolio that Audrey gave the Doctor/ME. For some reason Audrey trusts her and must imagine the drawings are safe in her care.

Well, this episode was better than last week's; the actors seem to be feeling more comfortable in their characters. I'll give it the rest of the season and see at the end if I'll bother continuing or not--if it returns, that is.
