Have You Ever Gotten a Guinea Pig Because You Really Wanted a Tribble?

Title says it all. I wanted to include other ridiculously cute, furry, purry pets in the title, but I could only fit one. I have. They were rats, though, and it didn't end well for them.

HA! We had a longhair guinea pig as our first pet. Her full name was "Crystabelle Pig Tribble." :)

Re: Have You Ever Gotten a Guinea Pig Because You Really Wanted a Trib

That is an exceptional name for what I'm sure was an exceptional Guinea pig!

No.

I think it would just be easier to just buy toy tribbles, since the tribbles themselves did nothing but make cooing noises. You can get that in a toy without having to clean up after a real animal.

Best thread title of the year, and we're only in February. To answer your question, though, no, I never did. But now I wish I had.

I have had a guinea pig named Worf. He was a black abysinnian.

I've had over 75 guinea pigs in my life :)

But I don't have any now.. I do however still have my original tribble.

Re: Have You Ever Gotten a Guinea Pig Because You Really Wanted a Trib

That sure is a lot of guinea pigs. I think it's great that you named one after Worf! If I hadn't been repressing my Trekkie-ness at the time, I'm sure I would have named my rats Kang and Koloth.

My last cat's name was Spot, which was a direct reference. Her original name was Spock, because of the huge ears she had as a kitten - then I brought her to the vet to be neutered and they informed me I would have to reschedule for a spaying. Since she was already used to the sound of the name, I went with the gender-neutral 'Spot'.
