And what is that thing that Card is so against?

Homosexuality.
WOW! Really? Now I did not know that. Do you have a source or a link for that?Just to be clear, Card has argued that gays should be put in concentration camps, so it's a good bit beyond the typical day-to-day homophobia you might think Thrawn's statement implies.

His habit of including scenes that featured the hero getting a glimpse of a young girl's underwear disturbed me. Gave me the creeps. It was probably an over reaction, but its constant inclusion made me quit his books. They were getting a bit repetative too. What did he do? Never read his stuff...
Yeah, that would be the Xanth series. I still buy those... I guess I have no problem with that series, although you're right, he is repeating himself. He did have another series of books, though, that I refuse to read. I can't remember the name of it right now, but the main charactor commits every major sin, all while trying not to commit any sin. That's where I had my over reaction.

I'm sure I've read that before, but reading it again, it seems even more vile than I would have recalled.
I really looked forward to PA's 8th book in the Incarnations of Immortality series (the first book in that series for some 15-odd years), only to find parts of it a bit... disturbing. The older he gets the dirtier he gets.![]()

There's a new book? I didn't know that. Which Incarnation is it this time?
Not the author himself but the politics in Terry Goodkind's books are a real turn-off - "Torture by good people is good", "killing unarmed people is good as long as good by good people".
Google "The Hypocrites of Homosexuality" to read one of Card's earliest and most virulent rants against gay people. This is where he suggests concentration camps for 'teh gays."
As far as I know, he's never retracted any of it.

Wow, what an ass. I still don't think it would necessarily keep me from reading his work.
After all, would we stop watching TOS if we learned that a certain star treated his co-stars shabbily, would we?![]()

Thanks for the link.
I couldn't get past the the part where he says there are no laws against gays marrying because they have the choice to marry and have children with someone of the opposite sex. If that's your opening arguement, I can't believe you're going to have anything more intelligent to say later on.
