Have they given up on the remastered series???

There doesn't seem to be any more mentioned on the ST site.
Have they given up? Or are they just having a break?

They've given up, due to the overwhelming complaints about nacelle cap brightness.

Star Trek remastered was cancelled after only one season.

I think we should start a letter writing campaign right now to bring it back for another season.

They're just airing reruns of ones they've already remastered until sometime in September. A small break so Okuda and his people can work on the next batch of episodes.

I'm all for it. As long as I get to take all the credit in future DVD set documentaries.

More accurately, the plan was always to release the 80 hours of remastered TOS in two 40-episode "seasons," one starting in September 2006, the next in September 2007. To date, 40 episodes have been aired, so the season is over and we're now in the summer break between seasons.

The full airing schedule for the '06-'07 "season," including the six weeks of reruns filling out the broadcast year, was posted on Startrek.com last September when the broadcasts began. It's always been part of the planned release schedule.

That is what the Okudas rcently told me. They did not reveal an airdate for the first new batch of remastered episodes.

It makes sense that the show would be divided into two 40-episode "seasons." I suppose we can expect the 41st episode to air before October 1st based on last fall's schedule, which had "Miri" and "Balance of Terror" airing for the first time around the 25th of September.

Well, the 2006-7 schedule on Startrek.com runs through Sept. 8 (an auspicious date), so I'm kind of assuming the second "season" will begin the week of Sept. 15.

tosr will be back in 4 weeks. just the planned summer hiatus. They have already finished quite a bit and will be done with the whole series in a few months

As stated above, they still have 40 episodes to get through, which would take about nine and a half months even if they ran them straight through with no reruns -- which they probably won't. The second "season," like the first, will probably run from mid-September to mid-July.

you misunderstood. Of course they will air from September to July. I was talking about the production team being finished in early 2008. They have already completed quite a few of the 40 unaired TOSR episodes
