I nerver thought I would but I'm watching season 1 of TNG just for the jump in quality from the remastering. It looks fresh and it makes it worth revisiting. I agree all frachise product from that tech era deserves it.

Anyhow, IMHO, the proper way to watch Voyager, DS9, or any other TV series or film is projected. If you're not watching light bounce off a screen, you're doing it wrong. And Voyager and DS9 DVDs are perfectly watchable when projected.

It's a shame you can't watch standard def TV - there's so much of it still. I appreciate if you can't deal with it, you can't deal with it... but I'd be sad to lose access to so much TV.
DS9 I did most recently watch a fan upscale. Not the one that for me made them look wrong as they pushed it too far, the more middle of the road pragmatic upscale. It added a certain crispness which helped.
I also find once I start on an old show, I 'settle in' to it. I don't think about it after a while.
This is timely as I just watched Birthright and seeing DS9 in HD makes me pine for a proper version.

Yes! You're comment on Seaquest and B5 being remastered before Voyager is something that drives me crazy! Add to that list: Dawson's Creek, Baywatch, and Doogie Howser!
It's the 60th anniversary - and they're doing nothing to celebrate it beyond repackaging TOS in an Amazon exclusive boxset. It's maddening because Voyager especially pulled in decent ratings on Netflix. At least remaster the great two part episodes as 'TV movies' - release them with a few scenes that were cut for time. You've got a built in audience for it and the cost is tiny compared to creating something like the Section 31 'movie'. And if it's not a streaming hit - well, you've not lost much.
Exactly! The argument for not having them done, as I'm sure you already know, is that the TNG blurays didn't sell as much as expected and considering the cost and time it took for that series, any further remastering would be considered a financial loss. If they truly care about the franchise, they should see it as preserving one of their greatest assets, not just another expense or gamble. Also, think about how many new subscribers would join Paramount+ if DS9 and Voyager looked as beautiful as TOS and TNG!!
