Haters of Star Trek: Discovery - wtf?

Don't love it, don't hate it. Don't know enough about it to make that kind of judgement call.

Right now, I'd say it sounds vaguely promising.

Ironically it was accurate to the naval spirit of Trek, because children probably served in the Royal Navy

When I look at the production schedule I am wondering if we shouldn't be concerned about the final quality of this first season. The series is supposed to come out on January 2017 but the main character hasn't been casted yet and they will only start shooting it in about 2 months. Doesn't it sound a little bit rushed? As a comparison American Gods, the other forthcoming TV series from Bryan Fuller is coming on June 2017 and already has a trailer

I used to be willing to go in to a film or tv series with an ioen mind but the last 15 years of unrelenting crap Hollywood is constantly churning out has made me a pessimist.

It also doesn't help that I'm not a Fuller fan. Never cared for his tv shoes and as a trek staff writer he wrote some of the weakest episodes

Plus the new fad of angst, grittiness, gratuitous sex scenes

I'm just glad that it's given people something new to hate, just as the Kelvin films did for Enterprise, Enterprise did for Voyager and so on back through the line.
