Trailer

Here's a quick summary of everyone from the cast page:

Hotaro is the son of a restaurant owner, good at sports but not good at studying. Looking for a purpose in life.

Rinne is a top student, and attends the Alchemy Academy hidden in the basement of the school. 10 years ago, her father stole the Chemy Cards and disappeared. Helps out Hotaro with RIder duties.

Spana is a top-class, arrogant alchemist who treats Chemies like a tool, and developed the Valvarad suit himself. Think Kaito from Gaim.

Renge is an alchemist from Kansai, trying to create gold to help her family. Does a manzai thing with Sabimaru.

Sabimaru is sharp-tongued, misanthropic and has an AI named Isaac on his tablet.

Minato is supposedly Hotaro's history teacher, but has a secret identity as an alchemy teacher. So he works two shifts.

The Three Black Sisters aren't given much info individually. They're the collective Yodonnas of this show.

Ryo Kajiki is Hotaro's classmate, not an alchemist. He does love the occult.

Tamami is Hotaro's mother who cares for him.

Fuuga Kudo is Rinne's dad who went missing and is clearly very important to the plot.

It sounds like Fourze meets Wizard

It sounds like Fourze meets Wizard

To an extent, though the monsters created by alchemy are much like the Greeed in OOO, and binding them in cards evokes the Undead in Blade.

A premise evoking Harry Potter seems a bit cliched and maybe ill-timed given recent controversies. But a return to a Fourze-like school premise could be cool if it brings back that show's sense of fun and joy.

The Dark Sisters are named Atropos, Clotho, and Lachesis, after Hesiod's names for the Fates in Greek myth. The Rider Wiki spells Valvarad's given name as Spanner, which seems to fit his "tool" theme (it's British for wrench).

This is the third season in a row to have a cast member who played a member of the Nozama Peston Service in Kamen Rider Amazons -- Wakabayashi in Revice, Kekera in Geats, and now Clotho here. The defense force captain in Ultraman Trigger was also a member of that category.

Someone on Twitter translated the Gotchard character bios:

https://twitter.com/SolCaesar/status/1689117743700975616

Some highlights:
  • As I hoped, Valvarad's suit isn't a Rider System but just a normal suit of armor -- the first time we've seen that since G3 in Agito more than two decades ago. Spanner Kurogane's surname means "Black Steel," and he believes Chemies are just tools while Hotaro wants them to have free will -- shades of Zero-One.
  • One of the students, Tsuruhara, is so introverted that he uses an AI named Isaac to speak for him. Maybe autistic? Reminds me of the male lead from Godzilla: Singular Point.
  • Atropos looks like a child but is actually the eldest of the Dark Sisters. The youngest, Lachesis, "specializes in dark alchemy that controls will," while the middle sister, Clotho, is a physical fighter.
  • Hotaro doesn't know what he wants to do with his life (I hope he isn't as indecisive about it as Kanata from Ultraman Decker), and is hoping to find "that 'GOTCHA' in life." Like Kamen Rider Kabuto, he likes to cook; he comes up with recipes inspired by the people and monsters he encounters. He also apparently has "maxed-out" Wild Forms that are nonhumanoid. Ohh-kay...

Wow check out the advertising for Gotchard!

Shinjuku Station's Metro Promenade has been decorated with Gotchard artwork featuring packs of 3 promo cards for anyone to take for free stuck to them, a display of Ride Chemy Trading Cards, and a display of Heisei & Reiwa henshin belts.

Cosmic Fury news: https://news.tokunation.com/2023/08...irmed-casting-update-david-yost-returns-76130

The final season of the original Power Rangers continuity debuts September 29 on Netflix. Jacqueline Joe (Fern) has been promoted to a main-title regular, and David Yost will return as Billy, along with other "familiar faces" not yet named.

EDIT: Here's the CF opening titles: https://twitter.com/PowerRangersDay/status/1692164229888143630

Billy is not just a guest star, he's a regular! I imagine they'll be carrying forward some elements (and maybe characters?) from Once & Always.

They're still showing the Dino Fury costumes in this title sequence, so I'm guessing it'll be updated once they get the new ones.

Wow, intriguing. It's a great idea, to give Gira the chance to grow into his new role and for the relations among the kings/kingdoms to advance further.

This is really a unique Sentai season. Time skips aren't unprecedented, but they're usually something like "One Year Later" epilogues in the final episode (a convention that Hasbro-era Power Rangers adopted as well), or that Kyoryuger follow-up movie that cast the lead actors as their characters' lookalike descendants. A multi-year narrative time jump halfway through the season is, I believe, unprecedented in Sentai.

^At least they're not tacking on "Super" to the front of their title lol

The 2nd half of the season story from the Sentai Website

Monarches…IN SPACE!

The battle between King Oger, an organization made up of six kings, and Bagnarak, the Earth Empire, will finally come to an end.
However, two years later...a new threat from outer space appears before the six kings, and the story enters a new chapter in September.

This time, a new stage, the universe, and a new visual of the six kings who have grown over the past two years have been lifted.
Information on the new veiled enemy, the “King of the Universe,” who rules the entire universe, is also awaited.

Two years later, the six kings are also new! --- Gira, who looked like a boy, has long hair and wears the clothes of a king like an adult , and Yanma has a makeover in a golden regent . Himeno, who has become more active with orange hair , and Rita, cut their long hair into short cuts , Kaguraggi, who has his hair down, has become wilder, and Jeramie, who wears a cloak, has awakened as a king. The growth of each king is definitely going to be a hot topic

Everyone this year is going into space!

I'm wondering if the move to space is to give them an excuse to use more outdoor locations instead of relying so much on the video wall. Though hopefully we'll see some cool, exotic CGI planetscapes too.

New poster ahead of tonights episode. Daigo from Kyoryuger will be making appearances on the show in October. Also his T-rex Gabu Tyra will be combining with some of the shugods.

Time to see who's truly the king of kings.

Also the new villain group. Kamejim joins the new villains! Could we be getting another Brajira 2.0 like in Goseiger?

Rough translations of the new faction

“Minotsugatsu Mouzu” he’s a super powered fighter

“Hirubiru Ritchie” she’s a sorceress

“Gorma Rosaria” he’s a speedy ninja warrior

Kamejim’s full name is “Kamejim Utsuka”

And then the King of Space, Emperor Dagudedo Doujarudan”.

Brief clip from Cosmic Fury's premiere, recapping the end of Dino Fury and confirming a returning character:

Meanwhile, in the "today I learned" department, just in time for the end of Kamen Rider Geats: Kamen Rider Tycoon's name is not an English loan word, nor is it simply a wordplay on tanuki/racoon. In fact, "tycoon" is a word English originally borrowed from the Japanese taikun, meaning "great lord/prince," a title for the feudal Shogun. So I guess to Japanese audiences, there was always a clue that Keiwa was bound for great things.

Hotaro's father is a secret for now.

Wow, this is the first time that a father will be a critical factor in a Kamen Rider season.

...this month.
